Splinterlands: Katrelba Gobson is amazing when combined with martyr

Splinterlands is a complex game, and it allows for various cards and strategies. Each fight is different as there are various rulesets applied, and this can give specific cards an advantage depending on how you use them. In this post, I talk about a great battle where I won because I used Katrelba Gobson.

Featured cards

Katrelba Gobson is an earth splinter that costs 6 mana. This card has bloodlust, sneak, and double strike to start. Leveling this card increases its stats, and it gains snare at level 5 and cripple at level 9.

This is a card that I like to use often in Brawls. I don't have it very high level, but the double strike, sneak, and bloodlust combination is very powerful. It would be nice to have this at level 4 so it gains an extra damage, but it's still powerful at level 3.

Rule Set, Battle, and Plan

The rulesets this time are Standard. This means that there are no additional modifiers in this fight. There is also 17 mana available, and I can use any splinter except for fire, life, and dragon.

My summoner is Wizard of Eastwood for the -2 armor. My tank is Failed Summoner with magic reflect. Then I have two martyr monsters on the side of Katrelba Gobson. Finally, I have Mycelic Morphoid with thorns.

The focus of this lineup is to keep my monsters alive while dealing damage and outlasting my opponent. Failed summoner is a low mana card with decent health. My last monster is a filler, but thorns can help reduce some melee monsters on my opponent's side. I will be relying on Katrelba Gobson as my main damage dealer.

Round 1

round 1.png
At first glance, I think that this match will be tough and I am at a disadvantage. My opponent has high level monsters, and I am at a huge disadvantage. Katrelba is in for a tough time killing the backline unless it can land every attack due to that healer.

Round 2

round 2.png
A few rounds later, my opponent has all of his monsters, and I only have Katrelba left. It's not looking good for me at all unless I can get those kills in.

I won that match a few rounds later because I didn't miss any attacks with Katrelba. It was weird to see the turnaround this time around.

Conclusion

The battle this time did not go as I planned. I wasn't expecting to miss so many attacks at the start, and I got lucky by killing off a few monsters to buff up Katrelba. With the martyr, it was finally able to get through the flying ability on those monsters.

You can see my entire match here.

What did you think of my match? Was there anything you would have done differently? I think it is quite interesting to see how different players use the same card.

Siempre es un placer leer tus reportes de batalla. Tienes una forma muy clara de explicar la estrategia detrás de cada alineación. Katrelba con Double Strike
