Splinterlands: Katrelba Gobson's bloodlust is amazing

Splinterlands is a complex game, and it allows for various cards and strategies. Each fight is different as there are various rulesets applied, and this can give specific cards an advantage depending on how you use them. In this post, I talk about a great battle where I won because of Katrelba Gobson.

Featured cards

Katrelba Gobson is an earth splinter that costs 6 mana. This card has bloodlust, sneak, and double strike to start. Leveling this card increases its stats, and it gains snare at level 5 and cripple at level 9.

This is a card that I like to use often in Brawls. I don't have it very high level, but the double strike, sneak, and bloodlust combination is very powerful. It would be nice to have this at level 4 so it gains an extra damage, but it's still powerful at level 3.

Rule Set, Battle, and Plan

The rulesets this time are Shapeshift. This means that all monsters are treated as bloodlines. There is also 17 mana available, and I can use earth, death, or dragon splinter.

This ruleset is interesting, but it doesn't apply to me because I don't have any gold foil bloodline summoners. My opponent could use one and have a huge advantage over me though.

My summoner is Wizard of Eastwood for the -2 speed. My tank is Failed Summoner with magic reflect. After that are two martyr monsters with Katrelba Gobson in between them. Finally, I have Mycelic Morphoid with thorns.

The focus of this lineup is to keep my monsters alive while my opponent kills himself. The mana cap is quite low, so most of my damage will come from Katrelba Gobson. The martyr is there to buff up Katrelba Gobson, and the rest of the monsters are playing more of a tank or supporting role.

Round 1

round 1.png
At first glance, I think that this match is to my advantage. My Katrelba is protected on both sides, while my opponent has his in the last spot targeted by sneak. This meaens that I will be able to kill his Katrelba without too many issues.

Round 3

round 3.png
A few rounds later, my opponent is down to just two monsters left and I still have 3 left. My Katrelba Gobson has stacked quitee a bit of bloodlust so I don't think there is anyway for my opponent to turn this around.

I won that match later that round.

Conclusion

The battle this time went exactly as planned. Katrelba Gobson is such an amazing card, and it becomes even more powerful when combined with martyr monsters. Depending on how you set up your lineup, some cards can just become way more powerful.

You can see my entire match here.

What did you think of my match? Was there anything you would have done differently? I think it is quite interesting to see how different players use the same card.

Positioning of monsters in the backline was critical on this match

The Katrelba is just an underrated beast, wow. Somehow after getting to first place, it still manages to finish off the last card

Wizard of Eastwood fits very well with Katrelba Gobson as it allows that unit to take down opponents more faster

Awesome battle! I love how you utilized the Wizard of Eastwood to strip that armor, nothing feels better than Katrelba’s double strike hitting raw health right from Round 1.
