Splinterlands: Magic in Thick Skinned along with tank heal is amazing
Splinterlands is a complex game, and it allows for various cards and strategies. Each fight is different as there are various rulesets applied, and this can give specific cards an advantage depending on how you use them. In this post, I talk about a great battle where I saw a battle where I won because I used a good strategy.
Rule Set, Battle, and Plan

The rulesets this time are Thick Skinned. This means all monsters gain the shield ability. There is also 34 mana available, and I can use any splinter except for water or dragon.
This is an interesting fight because melee and ranged monsters have their damage nerfed. Magic damage is fine so that is the beest approach to this fight.
| Splinter | Mana Cost | Position | Reason |
|---|---|---|---|
| Avina of the Wolf | 5 | Summoner | +2 speed or Heal |
| Silverblade Fighter | 6 | 1st | Flank |
| Great Bear Druid | 9 | 2nd | |
| Janni Rebel | 9 | 3rd | Inspire |
| Meriput Magician | 5 | 4th | Tank Heal |
| Total Mana: | 34 |
My summoner is Avina of the Wolf for heal. I have Silverblade Fighter as my tank. Then I have magic monsters after as damage dealers. One of them has inspire and the other has tank heak.
The focus of this lineup is to keep my monsters alive while dealing damage and outlasting my opponent. I will be relying on my magic monsters because physical damage is nerfed. I have inspire so my melee monsters could potentially help out in damage, and tank heal to keeep my lineup alive.
Round 1

At first glance, I think that this match can go either way. My opponent's second monster can be quite strong, and his demoralzie cancels out my inspire. So it will be a battle to see who can kill faster.
Round 7

A few rounds later, I have two magic monsters left while my opponent only has a ranged monster left. This is my win because my opponent can't attack.

I won one round later.
Conclusion
The battle did not go exactly as planned. The painforge monster was quite deadly, but once that went down, the rest was easy. I managed to get that win without any issues once that was done. I used tankier monsters up front, and that tank heal helped out quite a bit.
You can see my entire match here.
What did you think of my match? Was there anything you would have done differently? I think it is quite interesting to see how different players use the same card.

That ability is quite useful when you are expecting some mage on enemy side

I would call this battle quality over quantity. Meriput magician was the MVP with its tank heal ability, including the tank heal from your summoner as well. Congratulations warrior 🎉🎉🎉.
Going for magic dealing monsters is a good strategy in this match
