Splinterlands: Magic is the best option in Armored Up

avatar

Splinterlands is a complex game, and it allows for various cards and strategies. Each fight is different as there are various rulesets applied, and this can give specific cards an advantage depending on how you use them. In this post, I talk about a great battle where I saw a battle where I won because I used a good strategy.

Rule Set, Battle, and Plan

The rulesets this time are What Doesn't Kill You and Armored Up. This means all monsters gain the enrage ability, and they gain 2 extra armor at the start of the fight. There is also 26 mana available, and I can use any splinter except for fire, earth, or life.

This is an interesting fight because melee monsters get an attack buff, but they also have to hit through armor. So in a way, all options are viable, but I still prefer magic since it ignores armor.

SplinterMana CostPositionReason
Marlai Singariel6Summoner+1 magic
Asel Alagosdil41stDivine Shield
Lunaki Howler72nd
Mystic Scaleweaver93rdSlow
Total Mana:26

My summoner is Marlai Singariel for +1 magic. I have Asel Alagosdil as my tank with divine shield. After that are my magic monsters Lunaki Howler and Mystic Scaleweaver, and one of them has slow.

The focus of this lineup is to keep my monsters alive while dealing damage and outlasting my opponent. I will be relying on my magic monsters to cut through the extra armor from the ruleset and directly damage the enemy. It just makes things easier when I don't have to spend extra time removing armor when I don't need to.

Round 1

round 1.png
At first glance, I think that I have the advantage. I don't know what is up with my opponent's lineup as he only has one monster that can attack. I guess he might be relying on taunt to attract damage while his magic monsters takes out mine.

Round 3

round 3.png
A few rounds later, I have all of my monsters while my opponent only has one left. It can't even attack, so this is my win.

I won later that round.

Conclusion

The battle did go exactly as planned. I think my opponent wanted to rely on taunt to outlast me, but my magic monsters just wiped the floor with him. It cut straight through the armor, and once his magic monster was vulnerable, I took it out.

You can see my entire match here.

What did you think of my match? Was there anything you would have done differently? I think it is quite interesting to see how different players use the same card.

Immediately I saw the lineup, I knew magic attack would carry the day,in ruleset of this nature.Because their magic attack bypass the opponents units armor and straight to the heart(health).
It was so easy for Mystic Scaleweaver, Slicing through with all ruthlessness 🤗. Kudos Warrior 👏.

It is a wise decision to utilize magic damage monsters for this match
