Splinterlands: Regal Peryton is great in Earthquake

Splinterlands is a complex game, and it allows for various cards and strategies. Each fight is different as there are various rulesets applied, and this can give specific cards an advantage depending on how you use them. In this post, I talk about a great battle where I won because I used Regal Peryton.

Regal Peryton is an earth splinter that costs 5 mana. This splinter starts off with the flying ability. Leveling it increases its stats. I think this is a fairly strong earth card to use because it can also act as a backup tank.

Rule Set, Battle, and Plan

The rulesets this time are Earthquake, Lost Legendaries, and Are You Not Entertained. This means that no legendary cards can be used, one extra gladiator can be used, and all non-flying monsters take 2 damage per round. There is also 30 mana available, and I can use any splinter except for water, death, and dragon.

This ruleset is interesting because of the limitations. The extra gladiator can also be useful depending on the situation. So there are quite a few different options for people.

My summoner is Obsidian for the +1 magic. My tank is Pelacor Mercenary with flying. After that is Nectar Queen with flying as well. Then I have two martyr monsters between Regal Peryton to buff it up.

The focus of this lineup is to keep my monsters alive while dealing damage and outlasting my opponent. I have three flying monsters, but only one of them is magic. The martyr monsters are to increase my chances because they will buff some flying monsters.

Round 1

At first glance, I think that this match can go either way. My opponent also has 3 flying monsters and a level advantage. However, I will have a powerful magic monster once martyr takes effect.

Round 4

A few rounds later, my opponent is down to 2 monsters while I only have Regal left. However, this match is a win for me because Regal is faster than my opponent and that last monster is ranged.

I won that match a few rounds later

Conclusion

The battle this time did go exactly as planned. Using martyr when combined with flying monsters worked out well to increase my damage and to survive longer. Regal Peryton had a decent amount of damage and speed to this, so it was able to clear out my opponent without too many issues.

You can see my entire match here.

What did you think of my match? Was there anything you would have done differently? I think it is quite interesting to see how different players use the same card.

It's a great earthquake card as you've said and also it's very formidable against melee cards as well. It was one of my best magic cards ever

Yea. I loved using this card when it was part of Modern. Now I only use it for Brawls.

A fabulous card all around. That extra damage at 3rd level is clutch against anti magic teams with void. Just a straight up winged speed monster.

Just to add that double martyr is a nasty tactic but perfect when it works.

It's an amazing card. I think level 3 makes it good as it gets an extra damage, but my cards in brawls (gold foil) aren't high enough level.
