Splinterlands Social Media Challenge: Mantaroth and Armored Strike is Great in Super Sneak

Splinterlands is a pretty complicated game and there are some interesting battles with all the options available. This is a part of the weekly social media challenge for Splinterlands. This week the topic is a great battle that I had recently.

Featured card: Mantaroth

The card that I am focused on is Mantaroth. It's one of the promo cards during the Rebellion pre-sale and I got one copy of this card. It has shield and armored strike to start off. It learns true strike, repair and blast later when leveled up. I only have mine at level 1 though.

Rule set, Battle and Plan

The ruleset this time is Equalizer and Super Sneak. This means that all melee monsters gain the sneak ability and all monsters start with the same heatlh. There are 99 mana available and I am left with the choice of fire or death splinter. Armored strike is the ability that I am focusing on because it gives this card an extra attack based on it's remaining armor per turn.

I used Conqueror Jacek as my summoner so that I get 2 extra speed, scattershot and pierce. My lineup starts off with Grum which has void, void armor and bloodlust to deal with magic monsters. I focused on melee monsters so my 2nd monster as a backup for those magic monsters. Then I have Arkemis for protect and Disintegrator for demoralize to keep my monsters alive and reduce melee damage. My final two monsters have shield to deal with melee monsters in the super sneak ruleset. Mantaroth has armored strike to deal more damage and Dumacke is there for a chance to counter melee damage using retaliate.

Round 1

My opponent did not use a lot of sneak monsters like I thought he would, but I still think I have the advantage because of all my damage. Jacek will make it easier for me to hit my opponent so the only issue is whether or not I can land enough attacks.

Round 2

I took out the taunt monster and got rid of the resurrect as well. Grum did take quite a bit of damage but I did land most of my attacks so my advantage is there.

Round 3

I was able to take out another monster with only one miss on my side.

Round 5

I did lose another monster but my opponent doesn't have much left on his end. It will depend on whether or not I can land my hits but I still have the advantage.

A few rounds later, I was able to win because I didn't miss much. The weaken did its job to reduce the damage that I took.

Conclusion

The battle this time around went exactly as I expected. It's too bad that my setup against melee monsters didn't work out but I was able to win using my increased damage. I was a bit worried because my opponent's summoner removed my protect and the dodge doesn't help much for my melee setup. I was able to land most of my attacks and I think Jacek's +2 speed worked out. Mantaroth did a great job in this fight doing damage as it could attack twice per round and this definitely helped me kill off my opponent's cards. Arkemis's weaken was also very powerful because it reduced the damage that I took by quite a bit.
