Splinterlands: Speed is a nice advantage to have

avatar

Splinterlands is a complex game, and it allows for various cards and strategies. Each fight is different as there are various rulesets applied, and this can give specific cards an advantage depending on how you use them. In this post, I talk about a great battle where I saw a battle where I took advantage of speed.

Rule Set, Battle, and Plan

The rulesets this time are Now You Can See Me and Aim True. This means that all monsters gain the camouflage ability, and all monstrs can't miss. There is also 55 mana available, and I can use any splinter except for water or earth.

Chaos Furybringer62ndReach
New Beluroc Aegis83rdTaunt
Agniavan Salamander84thBlast
Sturdy Axe Warden85th
A'lan Musketeer86thDouble Strike
Total Mana:51

My summoner is Barthalamas for the +1 speed. I have Frankarsgard as my tank. After that is Chaos Furybringer with reach and New Beluroc Aegis with taunt. Agniavan Salamander has blast and A'lan Musketeer has double strike.

The focus of this lineup is to keep my monsters alive while dealing damage and outlasting my opponent. The first few monsters can tank most of the damage, and my ranged monsters will wipe out my opponent. The amount of damage that I have is quite high, and my ranged monsters are protected by my first three monsters.

Round 1

At first glance, I think that I have the advantage. Both of us have taunt monsters, but most of my monsters will be faster than my opponent once I factor in my archon. This means that I will get to attack before my opponent.

Round 4

round 4.png
A few rounds later, my opponent is down to 2 monsters, while I still have 4. This is my win because my opponent only has one monster that can attack, while I have multiple. At the same time, my monsters are just faster than my opponent's.

I won later that round.

Conclusion

The battle did go exactly as planned. Focusing on speed was the best choice to overpower my opponent. My ranged monsters were protected by the taunt and ruleset, so they could focus on dealing damage to my opponent..

You can see my entire match here.

What did you think of my match? Was there anything you would have done differently? I think it is quite interesting to see how different players use the same card.
