Splinterlands: Twice Yester Knight is great in Born Again

Splinterlands is a complex game, and it allows for various cards and strategies. Each fight is different as there are various rulesets applied, and this can give specific cards an advantage depending on how you use them. In this post, I talk about a great battle where I won because I used Twice Yester Knight.

Featured cards

Wilhelmdale Deputy is a life splinter that costs 7 mana. This splinter doesn't start with any abilities, but it does gain the shield skill at level 5. I have this card at level 4, and I use it quite often whenever I use Earth in Frontier because it is the best tank in the life deck. I think it would more powerful at level 5, but I don't have enough BCX yet.

Rule Set, Battle, and Plan

The rulesets this time are Up to Eleven and Born Again. This means that all monsters gain the Amplify and Rebirth abilities. There is also 25 mana available, and I can use fire or life splinter.

This is an interesting fight because you have to kill every monster twice and counter damage is more effective. It's hard to balance what cards to put down in your own deck to take advantage of the rulset because the mana cap is not very high.

My summoner is Aurelia for its +1 health. My tank is Dread Tafarian with heal. Then I have Spellmonger with thorns, and Wilhelmdale Deputy as my damage dealer.

The focus of this lineup is to keep my monsters alive while trying to outlast my opponent. The heal monster up front will try to outlast my opponent, and the thorns monster is there to attract any opportunity monster. Finally, my ranged damage dealer is out there to help me deal more damage.

Round 1

At first glance, I think that I have the advantage in this match. The Spellmonger has low health and armor, so it won't take long to kill. Also, my opponent's damage is all over the place, while my damage is more focused.

Round 4

My opponent is left with one monster while I have all three of mine. There is nothing my opponent can do against me because my opponent would have to dodge too many attacks to win, and I have a magic monster waiting.

I won that match a few rounds later.

Conclusion

The battle this time went exactly as planned. I chose to take advantage of the rebirth using Twice Yester Knight, and it worked out well. Also, my damage was targeted while my opponent's was not. My opponent focused on the counter damage, but that did not work to his advantage because of how low its health and armor are.
