Splinterlands: Vengeful Monk's Opportunity can be useful
Splinterlands is a complex game, and it allows for various cards and strategies. Each fight is different as there are various rulesets applied, and this can give specific cards an advantage depending on how you use them. In this post, I talk about a great battle where I won because I used Vengeful Monk.
Featured cards

Vengeful Monk is a neutral splinter that costs 7 mana. This splinter starts with the opportunity ability. Leveling up this card increases the stats of this monster. This is a decent card to use as it can attack from anywhere, and it has decent stats.
Rule Set, Battle, and Plan

The rulesets this time are Fire & Regret. This means that all monsters gain the return fire ability. There is also 27 mana available, and I can use any splinter except for fire, water, life, and dragon.
| Splinter | Mana Cost | Position | Reason |
|---|---|---|---|
| Thalgrimore | 6 | Summoner | -1 Health |
| Nim Guard Captain | 7 | 1st | Void |
| Sorrow Harvester | 7 | 2nd | Weaken |
| Vengeful Monk | 7 | 3rd | Opportunity |
| Total Mana: | 27 |
The focus of this lineup is to keep my monsters alive while dealing damage and outlasting my opponent. My archon is Thalgrimore for the -1 health. My tank is Nim Guard Captain with void. My backup tank is Sorrow Harvester with weaken. Following that is Vengeful Monk as my last monster.
Round 1

At first glance, I think that this match is going to be determined by whether or not I can land my first attack. That legendary flying monster can hurt if it survives for a long time.
Round 4

A few rounds later, my opponent is down to 1 monsters while I have all of mine left. This is my win because I have more monsters.

I won the match later that round.
Conclusion
The battle did go exactly as planned. My opponent had higher-level cards, but Vengeful Monk took out one monster to change the course of the match. We had the same damage at the start of the match, so that gap helped quite a bit as Vengeful Monk destroyed my opponent's backline.
You can see my entire match here.
What did you think of my match? Was there anything you would have done differently? I think it is quite interesting to see how different players use the same card.

A popular and powerful card in frontier ranked battle. It uses its opportunity ability very well. Well done warrior 👏.
Vengeful Monk really sealed the deal which proves that card level is not the only thing that matters.
