Every week there is a Splinterlands challenge to share a rule set using a specific card and on this week's post it is a battle with the Rise of the Commons rule set. I also encourage Splinterlands players to partake in the challenge because you get to try different strategies and earn some crypto in the process.

Rule set, Battle and Plan

The ruleset this time is Up to Eleven and Rise of the Commons. This means that only common or rare monsters can be used and every monster gains the amplify ability. There is also 19 mana available and I am left with the choice of life or earth splinter.

The summoner I choose to use this time is Lobb Lowland. In a match like this, I think that reducing my enemy's speed will help me and I can also use a gladiator.

Failed Summoner22ndMagic Reflect

Fungus Flinger34thBlind and Marytr

Total Mana:19

My plan is just to have a lineup to stall my opponent and let Katrelba Gobson finish off my opponent with double strike and sneak. I got thorns and magic reflect to take advantage of the rulesets. If anything, my martyr should help increase the damage and with the blind from my fungus, I hope I can make my opponent miss.

Round 1

round 1.png
At first glance of my opponent's lineup, I think this will be a tough match and it will depend on how things go on whether or not I can kill off my opponent. If I don't miss any attacks, I should be able to take out my opponent.

Round 2

round 2.png
We both traded one monster but I think I am ahead. As long as I don't miss, my opponent will be left with 1 attacker and my speed difference should land me the win easily. I am just glad that one of my opponent's attacks was missed.

Round 3

round 3.png
I didn't miss again but at this point, I believe that my win is guaranteed because of the speed difference plus double strike.

After a few more rounds, I was able to land enough hits and kill off my opponent.

Conclusion

The battle this time around went exactly as I expected. The thorns did remove the armor from my enemies's sneak monster and I was able to land enough attacks to stack up that bloodlust. It's too bad that the magic reflect didn't really help at all but at least it let my Katrelba focus on my enemies's attackers. This allowed me to win the match without too many worries. Combinign Martyr and bloodlust was great because the speed difference definitely gave me an advantage over my opponent. My summoner helped in that regard and I wonder why my opponent picked General Sloan when he only had 1 ranged monster.

You can see my entire match here.

What did you think of my match? Was there anything you would have done differently? I think it is quite interesting to see how different players play in a ruleset.

Nice to see your Failed Summoner at level 5, it is not a cheap card to upgrade despite it being a Common card.
Katrelba was ruthless as usual.

Yea. Failed Summoner is a great card and Katrelba is a great card to use. Once those bloodlust or Martyr's stack up, it's deadly.
