Splinterlands Weekly Challenge Battle BATTLE MAGE SECRETS! Armored Up Ruleset

Every week there is a Splinterlands challenge to share a rule set using a specific card and on this week's post it is a battle with the Aimless rule set. I also encourage Splinterlands players to partake in the challenge because you get to try different strategies and earn some crypto in the process.

Rule set, Battle and Plan

The ruleset this time is Equalizer and Armored Up. This means that all monsters start with the same health and all monsters also start with +2 armor. There is also 30 mana available and I am left with the choice of water, life or death splinter.

The summoner I choose to use this time is Grandmaster Rathe. In this match, having void armor is beneficial because magic attacks will hit my armor first. Also, having +1 armor and amplify can be helpful.

Total Mana:30

My plan is to use low mana monsters so I can make the most of the equalizer ruleset. I decided to go with magic reflect for my first two monsters because I think magic can be more deadly. Then I have weapons training to give Pelacor Conjurer magic attack. I have some support abilities like slow, repair, resurrect and tank heal.

Round 1

round 1.png
At first glance, I think that this is an even match but I have magic reflect and support abilities to keep my tanks alive. So in a way, I have the advantage but my opponent has a damage advantage and it will depend whether or not I can kill off my opponent before my magic reflect monsters die. My opponent's summoner does reduce my magic damage slightly.

Round 4

round 4.png
I was able to take out Cursed Windeku from my opponent but my first magic reflect monster will be dead due to poison. However, that was one of the strongest damage dealers that my opponent had. The magic monsters on my opponent is also half dead due to the reflect.

Round 7

round 7.png
It took a while before another monster died but I was able to take out 3 monsters in round 6. With this, my win is guaranteed because tank heal and repair will keep all my cards alive. My opponent only has one monster that can attack and he can't kill me anymore.

A few rounds later, I won the match without too many issues.

Conclusion

The battle went exactly as I expected. Having magic reflect was a good choice as it helped me finish off the magic monsters. The void armor helped keep my monsters alive as both repair and tank heal kept my tanks alive. Having all my monsters focus on the frontmost monster was also a good choice because that was where my opponent's strongest monsters were at. Once those were dead, I was able to just win the match without issues.

You can see my entire match here.

What did you think of my match? Was there anything you would have done differently? I think it is quite interesting to see how different players play in a ruleset.
