Splinterlands Weekly Challenge Battle BATTLE MAGE SECRETS! Born Again Ruleset

Every week there is a Splinterlands challenge to share a rule set using a specific card and on this week's post it is a battle with the Born Again rule set. I also encourage Splinterlands players to partake in the challenge because you get to try different strategies and earn some crypto in the process.

Rule set, Battle and Plan

The ruleset this time is Even Stevens and Born Again. Only even mana monsters can be used and all monsters are resurrected once. There are also 29 mana available and I am left with the choice of water, earth, life, or dragon splinter.

The summoner I choose to use this time is Helios Matriarch. It allows me to use a gladiator card and I can use my cards to their highest level. It also increases the speed of my cards by 1.

Queen Mycelia42ndProtect
Dhampir Infiltrator43rdDouble Strike and Sneak
Vruz24thSneak and Martyr
Katrelba Gobson65thDouble Strike, Sneak and Bloodlust
Naga Assassin26thBackfire
Total Mana:28

My plan is to delay my opponent and kill off my opponent's monsters using my sneak monsters. Vruz has martyr and the other two sneak monsters have double strike. Gobson also has bloodlust which works great against monsters in the born again ruleset. Having protect also decreases the damage that I take and it helps out more in the born again ruleset because the resurrected monsters come with armor.

Round 1

round 1.png
At first glance, I think that I have an advantage due to protect and my opponent using mainly ranged or melee. My opponent has also opted for sneak monsters but I have more damage output.

Round 2

round 2.png
I was able to kill off one monster and get rid of one resurrect on my opponent. My Gobson also got 2 stacks of bloodlust so I should be able to attack first. If I don't miss, then I will have stopped my opponent's sneak monster.

Round 3

round 3.png
I lost my first monster but I took out another 2 monsters from my opponent. Gobson also got 2 more stacks of bloodlust so I don't think there is anyway for me to lose this match.

A few rounds later, I won the match.

Conclusion

The battle went exactly as I expected. My choice of using sneak monsters worked out exactly as I intended and I was able to stack up a lot of bloodlust. This let me kill off my opponent quite fast while he was busy trying to kill my monsters. The protect monster was a great choice as it delayed my opponent. Born Again was just free stacks of bloodlust and my sneak monsters with their double strike ate through them. I feel that my opponent spread out his damage too much. The martyr did help him to an extent but it took too long for him to kill off my individual cards with all the damage spread out.

You can see my entire match here.

What did you think of my match? Was there anything you would have done differently? I think it is quite interesting to see how different players play in a ruleset.

Your Splinterlands gaming experience is quite interesting and thanks for sharing. I think you choose the right game characters and that's what enabled you to win.

Glad that you won the match but with what I read, feels it was not an easy win maybe because your opponent had good cards too
Keep it up!

My cards had decent cards but it was a bit too spread out in damage. I focused my damage and it let me win.

You completely decimated your opponent. To be very honest, using a gladius card in a resurrect game should be 101 strategy of playing splinterlands. Great win, look at that

Yea. Bloodlust is overpowered in born again ruleset.
