Splinterlands Weekly Challenge Battle BATTLE MAGE SECRETS! Rise of the Commons

Every week there is a Splinterlands challenge to share a rule set using a specific card and on this week's post it is a battle with the Rise of the Commons rule set. I also encourage Splinterlands players to partake in the challenge because you get to try different strategies and earn some crypto in the process.

Rule set, Battle and Plan

The ruleset this time is Rise of the Commons and Stampede. This means that only rare or common cards can be used and trample monsters continue their attack until it doesn't kill a monster. There is also 47 mana available and I am left with the choice of water or life splinter.

The summoner I choose to use this time is Possibilus the Wise. In this match, having +2 health, trample and reach is nice.

My plan is to have Diemonshark tank some hits and Coastal Sentry second with double strike ability. I also have a opportunity monster will do its best to kill off his low-health monsters. There is also a protect and repair monster to keep my monsters alive. Then there is also rust to reduce the armor on my opponent and let me kill off the monsters faster.

Round 1

At first glance, it's going to be a tough match. my opponent focused on speed but I still think I should be able to win this match. I think the rust to remove armor and protect to add armor will let me kill off my opponent's monsters first.

Round 2

I was able to wipe out the Diemonshark on my opponent's side and it kind of hurts to see my opponent move first with most of his cards. Overall, I was able to mitigate most of the damage that my opponent did last round.

Round 3

I only lost one monster but I was able to kill off two more of my opponent's monsters. With this, my win is guaranteed. I don't think I will miss that many attacks but there is still the speed difference.

A round later, I was able to kill off my opponent. My Coastal Sentry has been doing some great work this fight along with the trample from my summoner.

Conclusion

The battle went exactly like I expected but I wasn't expecting the speed focus on my opponent. I thought it would be much harder but I think that helped me kill off my opponent's tank during the first round. I was able to focus all of my damage and I did not miss that round. Following that, the rust, protect and repair helped me get an advantage over my opponent.
