Splinterlands: Winning because I had the higher level card
Splinterlands is a complex game, and it allows for various cards and strategies. Each fight is different as there are various rulesets applied, and this can give specific cards an advantage depending on how you use them. In this post, I talk about a great battle where I saw a battle where I saw a new ruleset.
Rule Set, Battle, and Plan

The rulesets this time are Up Close & Personal and Born Again. This means that only melee monsters can be used, and all monsters gain the rebirth ability. There is also 27 mana available, and I can use only fire splinter.
It's an interesting fight since we are limited to a single splinter type and melee monsters.
| Splinter | Mana Cost | Position | Reason |
|---|---|---|---|
| Barthalamas | 6 | Summoner | +1 speed |
| Frankarsgard | 7 | 1st | |
| Chaos Furybringer | 6 | 2nd | Reach |
| Echelon | 4 | 3rd | Opportunity |
| Ember Roast Sow | 4 | 4th | Sneak |
| Total Mana: | 27 |
My summoner is Barthalamas for the +1 speed. I have Frankarsgard as my tank. After that is Chaos Furybringer with reach. Following that, I have Echelon and Ember Roast Sow.
The focus of this lineup is to keep my monsters alive while dealing damage and outlasting my opponent. Frank and Chaos were my definite picks, but I only had 8 mana after picking those 2. So I ended up choosing the two 4 mana monsters because they could potentially keep Chaos longer if my opponent has sneak or opportunity.
Round 1

At first glance, I think that I have the advantage. My Chaos Furybringer is higher level, and that taunt monster will just attract my last two monsters. In a showdown between our first two monsters, my monsters should win due to the level advantage.
Round 4

A few rounds later, my opponent has lost his tank, and I still have a healthy lineup. This is my win because my opponent can't dodge my Chaos Furybringer.

I won a round later.
Conclusion
The battle did not go exactly as planned. I had Chaos Furybringer at max level, and my opponent had one level less. This gave my lineup one mroe extra damage, and it made my Chaos Furybringer faster than my opponent's. It gave me an easy win due to this.

What did you think of my match? Was there anything you would have done differently? I think it is quite interesting to see how different players use the same card.

Level advantage besides stats gives also abilities
The second card in the lineup, the one with the ability to attack from second place actually has this glow feel to it. Why was it actually glowing?
