Week 267 | My Splinterlands Art Contest Entry | Quora Towershead

Hello! 🥳

Hey! I am back. 😁 I missed three contests coz maybe I was burned out of doing the Inktober challenge. Also during those times, I also did some art detox. 😆 Though I made some fast art posted here on Hive.

For this week, I chose Quora Towershead! 🥳

Art Process

On my sketch, I wanted to show Quora's sword, so I sketched her holding it on the right hand. The head is in a 3/4 position. On the lineart, I changed the hair and the expression. The hair is lifted to show motion. I used a different pen for the lineart here. I want to make some lines dense on connecting lines.

Next is the base colors. I chose the unsaturated shades of colors because later on, I will put saturated colors for the shading. On another layer, I chose a shade with a red undertone color for the shading.

And then, I added some highlights on the hair and on the gloves. Next is working on the background. I imagine Quora is on the top of a Coliseum, so I thought of putting an arc architecture and then layering it with a brick image and fixed the opacity. I then color the background with blue for the sky.

Final Art

I then used a cloud brush to put random clouds. I then clipped 2 layers for the glow and for the shadow. I used a blur brush to soften the edges of the shadows. Lastly, I used the liquify tool to fix some edges. Added noise monochrome at 10 percent opacity.

Finished art!! 🥰 I enjoyed doing this art.
