Leveling Up Your Water Monsters For Bronze League
The max levels that you can play for Bronze league are level 3 commons, level 2 rares, level 2 epics and level 1 legendaries. You don't have to have any of your cards leveled up to earn full rewards in bronze league, but you'll have an advantage against opponents that haven't started combining cards.
If you happen to have any legendary summoners then you can play monsters that are maxed out for bronze. When I talked about going wide with your collections, one of the cards I recommended was Quix the Devious. If you have a copy of Quix then you can pair it with these upgrades.
I think these are some of the most impactful water monsters to start leveling up and several of them happen to be among the least expensive cards in the game.
You'll notice that for the other 4 primary splinters I started out with the 1 mana monster from Chaos legion as a great target to level up for bronze. I actually didn't add Hardy Stonefish to this list because at level 3 it gets a second health, but doesn't pick up a new ability like the 1 mana monsters in those other splinters.
Flying Squid
Most of the best reach monsters came out in Riftwatchers, but Flying Squid has been around since Chaos Legion hit the scene over a year ago. At level 3 Flying Squid picks up a third melee damage.
Cruel Sethropod
Cruel Sethropod is another vanilla monster without extra abilities attached, but the raw numbers are great for 3 mana and at level 3 it picks up a second melee damage.
Tide Biter
At level 2 Tide Biter picks up a second melee damage and can be run right behind Cruel Sethropod in little league.
Feasting Seaweed
At level 3 Feasting Seaweed picks up a third melee damage
So there you have it, tons of raw power and melee damage in the water splinter. If you don't already have one, it may be time to pick up a copy of Possibilus as well.
When picking out new cards to level up, it's important to consider whether you'll be playing in modern or wild format. All of the cards that I discussed in today's post are legal in modern. If you start to level these cards up remember that they will revert to level 1 if you pair them with a level 1 rare summoner like Drake of Arnak or Bortus on the battlefield.
I would love to hear what some of your favorite cards are to level up.
