Pelacor Arbalest Weekly Battle Challenge!

Here's the ruleset

Lineup:

Summoner: General Sloan

Sloan buffs all the ranged attacks

Tank: Shieldbearer

A great tank. Shieldbearer can take a few hits and the Taunt ability takes some heat off the rest of my team. I'm very curious to see how Rifwatchers will shakeup the meta in relation to monsters with Taunt.

First position: Time Mage

The Slow ability makes this whole team work better even though it doesn't have a ranged attack to synergize with General Sloan. The speed on Time Mage is also great for having your opponent miss on occasion.

Second position: Venari Crystalsmith

The Tank Heal ability synergizes great with Shieldbearer. The ranged attack synergizes great with General Sloan. I'm not certain that this is better for my team than Truthspeaker against the mirror, but I didn't know that I would go against the mirror and since I don't own a copy of Truthspeaker yet this is better for my RP.

Third position: Creeping Ooze

There's that Slow ability again. This ability seems to work very well on this type of team with General Sloan.

4th position: Pelacor Arbalest

Under typical circumstances this monster deals 6 damage per turn but it also dies to practically anything that can hit it. It's very important to be careful of placement for Pelacor Arbalest.
The easiest comparison here is Axemaster, but Axemaster doesn't get to synergize with General Sloan and Pelacor Arbalest can't take a hit.

Did my strategy work?

Yes, but this was a close one. I think that speed made the difference.

Do I like Pelacor Arbalest?

Yes. The Arbalest is so powerful in the right circumstances.

What will I try differently next time?

I mentioned the Truthspeaker, I think it works better than the Crystalsmith in the mirror. I also wish that I would have included a 0 mana monster in an empty slot.
