Just stumbled on the latest blog post of @make-a-whale (https://steemit.com/maw/@make-a-whale/time-for-maw-to-retire) and it seems that Make-a-Whale is now planning to retire. T_T
I've been here on Steem for almost 2 years now and out of those 2 years I have been a member of the Make-a-Whale community for around 1.5 years. Over those 1.5 years of being a member, Make-a-Whale has been a tremendous help along with the Qurator community on building up my account and encouraging me to stay here on Steem (and also SteemMonsters XD) despite it's value continually decreasing over the past 2 years.
The daily guaranteed upvotes I got from these two might seem small and insignificant to some but for someone who is a #freeplayer on Steem, every upvote counts. XD
Although I have long stopped subscribing to their bonus upvotes (by delegating or sending liquid Steem monthly) ever since #newsteem was introduced, I'm still a little saddened to see @make-a-whale go and retire although if I have to be honest I did see this coming.
Well again, Thanks for everything @make-a-whale! Thanks for the support on me for these past 1.5 years.

It's sad to see how Steem is totally falling apart with the current rules. I've been a part of MAW for a very long time and even though I've always been quite skeptical about the numbers, they did provide stable small upvotes which I value a lot and made a world of difference. I guess all there is to do now is to pray to the curation gods if you want to get anything going here. I just can't see anyone making it as a blogger now unless they buy 50k SP and start circle-jerking with other big accounts.
Right now unless you give 100% votes to posts you know will reach the non-linear curve, you pretty much get screwed over. It really feels like Steemmonsters is the only thing keeping steem alive right now.
