Give with a smile 😊 don't limit it's benefits 🎁

Giving is the ability to make someone a benefactor of something.

This week's topic in The Earn, Spend, Give community is all about the best way to give to improve or develop our community

I will start by saying that people should understand that giving to someone doesn't mean it is compulsory to solve the person's problem completely.

Some always give up on giving because they feel it's not enough.

You can give the little you can, as long as it's going to do something meaningful in the person's life.

That being said, know it that you mustn't have in abundance before making someone a benefactor of something.

It doesn't mean you should also rig yourself to make someone a benefactor of something.

Ways to give to improve or develop our community

Make the first push

I remember an uncle of mine that checked our community and saw a few children in school.
He made inquiries about why they weren't coming to school and found out it was because of school fees and school uniforms, which he provided and the story changed.
My brother went ahead to supply them with writing materials, which he stopped because of how things are.

But it encouraged children to do well academically, which their parents saw the benefits and couldn't hesitate to continue supporting them.

When you give and impact on a child, you are creating a pathway to greatness and positive growth.

And in most cases, a first push can trigger more effort.

Reduce the burden

When someone receives something, no matter how little it is.
It will surely solve a part of one's problem, it will reduce the workload.

So, like I said before.
It's not a must to solve all the problems completely.

Water was a big challenge in the community.
One had to go far away to the stream to get water, until someone offered help to reduce the hardship.

He didn't make water to be available inside every person's home.
But he was able to bring it close by opening a pore hole in the center of the community.
Which operates on solar, though the solar was provided by another person.

I will say he gave everybody a small piece of benefiting.

Give to Earn

This is the act of making someone a benefactor of something that he/she will have to work further for it.
And in the process, expand the chain.

In the sense that, the first benefactor will work hard, earn more and extend it to another person to another.

In a community where one person always works hard, earn and give will never grow without impacting on another person.

Give the other person the opportunity to learn and grow to give back to another person.

Give right

I had a friend then in school that came to me crying of hunger.

Managing things, especially food stuffs has always been my thing, but during that period I had none.
I was also planning to shop for a few things.

Glad I had some money with me which I gave her some and took some to buy a few things (food items) for myself.

Well, I was surprised to see my friend back to join me eat the small food I prepared, while she used the money I gave her to buy a dress.

She has many dresses, but she used the money for food to get another dress for herself.
She knew she will still feed from me later on.

So, just imagine when you give someone something and it's been misused.

Will that bring any growth?

So, know who you give to.
Once the person starts showing signs of misusing the opportunity given to him/her.

It's best to give another person the opportunity.

Because a gift should be beneficial not Wasted.

πŸ€” I will have to stop here @terganftp, a lot is involved in the topic above.

Hopefully, I didn't disappoint with the limited points.

Thank you very much everyone for reading through 😊πŸ₯°

Reminds of me of when I gave N200 out of the little I had, thinking the guy would look for something to eat, only for him to buy airtime and not just that, he mistakenly sent the airtime to my line, thinking he was sending it to the other gender. Well, I thought hunger was his issue rather, something else.

Glad to know someone helped with bore-hole and another was encouraged by the initial person. This shows how kindness and giving can influence others that may just need the push.

You're right, we can't solve all of world's problems, we can do the bit the universe enables.

Thank you for the wonderful views

It's a huge topic and you certainly didn't disappoint :)

I am more about everyone participating instead of trying to compete for who did it best. Which is why I moved to an "all participants get an equal share of the reward" instead of trying to figure out who was best, who was second and so on. I'm just glad you decided to join the discussion.

I personally find it so hard to figure out how to distribute limited resources. Recentlhy there was an elderly couple who died in my town. They gave almost $250 Million HBD to the church so the church would be better able to help others. That made me think....hard....

It is such a large amount of money. However, if you tried to help everyone in Nigeria there would be enough for one small meal for everyone and then the gift would be gone forever.

If you train the children and give them education it is a noble ideal ... but without opportunities to use that knowledge the children will not succeed.

If you help the parents become financially stable then they will have the money to help the children...but if they are uneducated there is a good chance they will use the money poorly as taking care of finances requires education.

Many organizations try to feed the hungry. However, there is always more need than resources.

I'm left with thinking that it is best to help those who are able to become self sufficient in the hope that they will in turn help others to become self sufficient. When enough people can provide for themselves and their family then the giving can truly help the community.

Also...as you mentioned, funding a fool is a poor decision. Someone who chooses more dresses over food is foolish. However, if that person had no clothing then perhaps getting a dress might not be such a bad idea if there is a little food later :)

That's really a huge sum of money, but I think the first approach is knowing you won't solve the whole problem.

Empowering people with the money will go a long way in bringing a positive change.

Giving people small amounts of food won't last longer.
But creating a channel to help them produce and grow what they can eat.
Like providing them with good crops, fertilizers and water channels to water the plants during dry season.

And yes, it could have been understandable if she had no dress.

Thank you very much for the encouraging words 😊

This is definitely the best way.

My mind tells me that is true. However, there are some people in such bad shape with so little that it pains me to be helpless to do anything. It is little comfort thinking I'm building the community so they can help that person when they need aid now. But in giving that aid I can't help the community.

(sigh) so much need and so little ability.

Guess that's where prayer comes in

You certainly didn't disappoint and there is something to learn from everyone's input that is why I do not hesitate to read.

"In a community where one person always works hard, earn and give will never grow without impacting on another person"

This is the whole point of the matter and if a chain like this can be established, our world will be a better place.

I hate people who misuse opportunity like your friend, they often think that they are wiser and can manipulate others but watch and see such people never make any positive progress in their lives.

Thank you very much dear πŸ₯°

You said it all.

Growth is only applicable in a well good established chain.
