Introduction post

I hear that introduction posts are kind of a thing around here, so here goes.

Hi! I'm Joe.

There's not much to say about my personal life and I'm not really one for sharing too much personally online. I love music, games, writing, the outdoors, food and having a good time.

I found my way to HIVE and the Peakd community through Splinterlands. I wanted to learn more about the game and some of the first strategy posts I found were here in the community. From there I took a look around and felt that this was a nice place to park some HIVE and take part in the community.

I like to believe I grew up in the golden age of video games in the late 80s/early 90s but I know the reality is the golden age of video games is always tomorrow. The emergence of blockchain technology has opened the door to a lot of opportunities. It's rare to be authentically in at the ground floor with a new movement and that excites me. I am not here to make money.

I am an educator and believe in the power of blockchain technology and the NFT to make change in my professional world. The money making/speculation aspect is so toxic and wild at this stage that can be hard to see the truly meaningful application of this technology other than to try to turn some money into more money, but I know it's there. I will need to rely on many much smarter people than me to blaze that path and develop the next blockchain apps that might make somebody's life better. The HIVE blockchain and its innovative structure seems an ideal place to experiment with these things, but I simply don't know how.

In the meantime, I will continue to enjoy the community, play some cards and watch as this wild world develops.
