Beginner's guide | Splinterlands Tutorial

▶️ Watch on 3Speak

Splinterlands is a broad card game when looking at the gameplay alone without the continuous expanding tokenomics of the game that presents opportunities for earning without actively playing the game.

It wasn't easy for me to grasp the gameplay when I started, I recall hoping onto Splinterlands back then and will get out several times because it was just too much for me to grab what was going on.

Eventually, I got a hang of how to play and it has been an exciting journey so far with a game that I started out playing with $10 a little over two years ago, my deck value is currently worth $2700 in the current bear market.

Recently I've been getting questions on how to play Splinterlands so, I thought I'd make a tutorial about the gameplay with the hope those keen on playing learn a thing or two.

So here is the first of a series which I covered about card abilities, the stats of a card, and the types of Splinters (elements) we have in the game. I also touched on summoners and monsters and shared battles to demonstrate how to put out a lineup against an opponent.

Feel free to leave comments on what you would like me to cover in the game and thanks for watching.

28 whopping minutes, wow, you really did start up from the beginning. I think learning the abilities is one thing that takes time as well. Let me bookmark this so I'll reference it to people who asks me questions.

Thanks, bro, time flew quickly so I decided to make it just below 30 minutes, there's a lot to uncover it will take me a few series to pass out the necessary information.

I struggled with card abilities and stats as well when I started out playing Splinterlands so, I had to start from there.

Thanks for the tip

This will really go a long way for the beginners, it took me months before I could fully understand the game

Awesome video mate!

I believe SPL are considering working on their tutorials, perhaps you should pimp out your services to them and make like official tutorials for them. Lots of new players will benefit from it.

It took me a while to understand the abilities but I think the general idea is taught through the tutorial. So I think the best way to learn is to just play after learning the basic rules.

I suppose most of us have the card abilities as a challenge, once that is understood and out of the way it becomes easier playing Splinterlands.

I finally got the chance to go through the video, as a newbie am overwhelmed by the info but slowly am sure I will learn. I have been curious about splinterlands for a while. I will probably have to set time a side to get in fully. Thank you for sharing bro and I will keep learning as it seems interesting. Do enjoy the weekend ahead :}

I can't believe I did not see this until now, I saw the second tutorial but I thought of starting from the first and that's how I found myself here today 🙃.

You said something about the speed of the card, how can one know when to go for cards that have slow speed? Also which of all of this qualities of the card is more important to look at when choosing your cards?

I have other questions but I will have to go bit by bit so I can be able to understand it well.

Thank you so much for thinking about sharing how to begin the splinterlands game with us, I know this will help me and others a lot.

You said something about the speed of the card, how can one know when to go for cards that have slow speed?

When buying cards, all kinds of cards are worth owning both slow and fast because there is a battle ruleset that is called Reverse Speed which means the slowest cards attack first.

While other rulesets fastest cards are the ones that attack first before the slower ones so when building your Splinterland deck (card collections) all kinds of cards are worth owing about speed.
So the battle ruleset makes you decide whether you should use fast or slow cards.

You are most welcome, feel free to ask questions 😃

Oh I see, that's very understandable, so they tell you the kind of battle you are engaging in before you choose your cards right?

What are the things you put into consideration before choosing an element, a summoner and a monsters?

Yes, there's always a battle ruleset to pay attention to, if you watch the two previous series, I demonstrated how to set up your lineup.

The battle ruleset also helps you determine the kind of summoner and monsters to use strategically. The more you understand the game and the abilities of the cards, the strategy comes in handy in outsmarting your opponents.

If it is a Super Sneak ruleset for example you might want to use anti-melee summoner to reduce the melee attack of your opponent.

I've not seen all the videos even the first one in yet to finish it because I'm trying to save my data but I will see them but by bit.

Okay, I think I will just have to learn the symbols for the different attacks for now and I will come back when I have any other questions.

Thank you for your time sir, you have been really helpful and supportive, I can't thank you enough 🥺🙏.
