#MyHiveGoals - A Question For Maxis...
So the crypto market is in a slump. Some are calling it a cold crypto winter, others a bear market...I dunno really, I mean other than the price of it all taking a hit, nothing has really changed for me.
And it made me ask myself...
The whole 'Bitcoin Maximalist' thing. I've always wondered what they do with their Bitcoin? I'm not even trying to be funny here, maybe I'm just not in the loop with the Granddaddy of all crypto but...
What can you do with Bitcoin?
Other than hold it, or invest it to get some returns...It's a store of value but what else?
Just exactly what...Are maxi's maxing?
I'm so ignorant to other crypto projects and that includes Bitcoin LOL
So I guess I'm a Hive maximalist then.
The price of it, sure I notice it but it doesn't change my daily plans on the chain. I can use it every day. I can build on it. Heck, we've even brought entire communities here to start adopting it. Real use case, regardless of what the price of it does.
That's the point of this weekly blog post! To show the world, that regardless of the price of this crypto....We USE IT. Every single day, no matter what.

I always thought when the price of Hive took a dump, we'd earn more Hive for our efforts. Guess not LOL

We'll see if this week we can improve on this and get back over 50 Hive a day. Sucks to see it take a hit but alas...

Great to see your SPT goals step up a bit. Truth is I also think we'd earn more hive when the price dumps, maybe we need to test 20 cents to get that, I surely don't know. Hopefully we'll build for more decades to come.

I like the term "Hive Maxi". I don't mind having it engraved over my profile. For tokens I am planning for EDS and INDEX for next few months. Just accumulating enough SWAP.HIVE for this. I may plan leasing LEO power but not sure which accounts are good for that. Any ideas?
I have been using LeoFi with great results over the past few months!
I am not a maxi for any coin. If I had to pick just one..It would probably be eth,hive, or solana. That being said I still hold bitcoin and will forever.
What can it do? I think being able to hold you money on the most powerful decentralized computer network in the world is pretty awesome and thats why i hold some. I also think more and more businesses and nation states will also get involved.
good to think about. I read a report recently where the developers are going in crypto ETH still wins by the long shot.
I also want to follow the gamers. Hive/Eth I think are awesome for gaming.
If ETH ever got ease of use into their experience, I would be a fan. Because I know how used the token is for so many applications!

I like to think I fit in the camp of Bitcoin maxis, though using another blockchain probably disqualifies me for many in that camp, so I hope I can give some insight to the question of what most are doing.
I think the large majority are just saving Bitcoin in preparation for the eventual world reserve asset change to Bitcoin. I think most just want protection from anyone inflating their portion of the monetary supply away from them. We aren't looking for yield so much as we want to be protected from anyone having the ability to change that basic token function. That doesn't mean it hasn't been a positive economic choice for any tenured maxi. Bitcoin, with enough time given, has been the best performing economic asset out there.
If you are asking more about what they're doing to earn a yield there's many answers to give. If you don't mind to trust funds with custodians then there's a number of companies that will give you yield for letting them hold your Bitcoin. I wouldn't recommend those to anyone but they exist for those that want to play musical chairs. If you're less risk tolerant you might try earning yield providing services for Bitcoin like providing liquidity for JoinMarket or getting paid to create lightning channels to those wanting extra inbound capacity. Using these services you keep control of your funds but you're at a higher risk of technical issue over just holding your Bitcoin in cold storage since these require funds in a hot wallet.
At the end of the day it's just nice for me to know that the value I have in Bitcoin is untouchable by anyone else in the world. I don't have to do anything to keep my share of the pie other than not spend it.

Issue for me has always been...Why trash any other project? Maxis have the reputation of doing it lol
The trashing other projects has always been a hard one for me. I see the issue of turning people off but I also see the value it provides of acting like a community immune system to protect users. It turned me off to projects like Samourai Wallet, that were known for being toxic, at first. That being said with enough time most of the issues they raised, albeit crassly, were often proven correct. That leads me to think it comes from a sense of wanting to protect users from falling for a scam.
I can relate in way. When @dlive left Steem to create their own blockchain I reacted in normal maxi fashion and was very toxic to anyone that supported that traitorous scum. I knew they were doomed to fail and I felt like they had clearly shown their lack of honor. I felt like it was clear to see what their plan was and that if anyone was supporting them they were attacking truth in a way. I think I've been proven right with time about the platform but in the short term I know of a couple users that left Steem right along DLive that might not have had I not been so crass towards them.
Was the loss of those relationships worth it? I don't know that I could answer that but I do feel bad that they ended up missing out on Hive. That being said the ones that did stick around and put up with the fire are now doing great on chain here. Maybe it improved this community be keeping those just seeking to leach value away and moved them off onto LINO?

Some maxis at least don't care if they can use it, they just want to protect their value against the corrosion of fiat currencies without having to gamble in asset markets, because that includes high risk and lot of research.
I can understand that, but why do they feel the need to trash every other project? That's what I dont understand lol
It's nice to see that you and your family are taken care of. So you can focus on building again. I am not really a maxi of anything because I believe that the world will be a world with a bunch of coins, one for each specific case that will be used.

Another fantastic week and inspiring as always. The LEO target is really close maybe in a week or two at the most. You will expand it or you will stop there. I really like the consistent progression of HBD, it gives a balance to the portfolio.

I'm a maxi for no coin or asset (I hold stocks and precious metals as well as crypto and a lot of food :o) but other than ADA (after selling my BTC and Eth), Hive and all its assets is my priority and will be for a very long time and not because of nostalgia but because one can feel the enthusiam and grit from community members such as yourself. I still can't figure out for the life of me, why Hive gets ignored by the market, but I's quite sure, this will be a thing of the past come the next bull run.
It's mind blowing for sure...I think the crypto world loves to talk decentralization, but really don't want to embrace it. Hive is the blockchain they always talk about but never mention by name.

I mean, we are invested in Hive Engine for multiple reasons, but the big ones are the CTP token and tribe, INDEX and ListNerds. We're invested because we've gone all into building our businesses here :)
lol. I know WHY, it was more a question of HOW. Because that's a lot of tokens right there... I still have my handful of INDEX tokens and I have started collecting a bit of CTP for Listnerds.
I have not really geared up for it. I intended to but then the last two weeks have been RIDICULOUS! Busy re-adjusting to normal slowly.
I only look at Bitcoin because it is the largest crypto out there and what happens to it price wise usually impacts all other crypto to some degree. I am working to max out my hive balance. LOL What is considered max when there isn't a max?

I understand the feeling. It is very similar to the stock market where most stocks rise and fall with the major indexes. There is no telling which ones are leading the pack but when they go up most go up and when they fall most fall in price. Take care.
