#MyHiveGoals - The Blessing & The Curse
Hive is such a remarkable blockchain...
When I joined back in 2017 it didn't take long for me to go 'all in'! Everything just made sense to me. From the promise of 'SMT's' to the entire concept of being rewarded for sharing your passions with the community...There was something special about this place.
So my goal when I first joined was to wait 5 years (December of this year) to revisit my investment of time, energy and money and see if this was what I thought it would be. Safe to say, I didn't need 5 years to know, this was the place for me and my business!
The blessing...I have been focused on building my stake up on chain for almost 5 years. I've been able to do this, by literally following the entire #ThriveOnHive model! I'm not just writing about that stuff, I've actually lived it :)
The curse (which is kind of a blessing too lol) is that I've built up a nest egg of sorts that has been able to help my family navigate some very 'strange' waters over the past 4 months or so. The curse is...I've had to dip into that nest egg, and believe me when I say it...I hate doing it!
I had a dream of 'making a living' off my efforts and investments on Hive, so I would never have to touch my stake and just let it grow.
Welp....That dream is still alive and my hope. But not just yet....
I'm having to powerdown a few more weeks to get my family back from the 'strange waters...literally'.
Back to the blessing though....
This chain ALLOWS you to continue to show up, build and accumulate. If you add value, you will be o.k. :)

It was a great week to see that stake grow...But that'll all end next week lol

Next week, I might have to put that 'goal' down to 100k lol
Ahhh well, I feel so damn lucky that my efforts over the past 4 years plus, actually will help my family. Which is why we are even here in the first place isn't it?

Dollar Cost Average Into Hive Engine Projects
I'm going to remove WORKERBEE from my dollar cost averaging. I may still grab a few here and there, but the transition that the H-E team seems to be moving towards is focusing on BEE itself. So I want to slow down on accumulating WORKERBEE for a bit, just to see where things go.

Not day at all I'm kind of jelly of that SPT stack now. I had figured the price was going to bombshell after the airdrop but that hasn't been the case.

Since the pandemic times, I too had to push on some savings, which is kind of draining me. I too would sell out some of my crypto portfolio to compensate for the money lost since last 2 yeas. I think Hive if can help you in odd times that is indeed a good use case for hive.
I have this plan of earning out of delegation, but I am far away from that plan. Small steps I guess :)
It sucks. I cringe every time i press that power down button. But so thankful we have the opportunity here to even accumulate so that we can power down. It’s saved my life a few times lol

Well, I don't have that much of a stack, but I do hope I can just leave it and not touch anything for many years to come.
But it is nice to know that there's a small but growing "backup fund" somewhere, in case something bad does happen.

Oh, what news do you have on the hive-engine front? Is there any use for WORKERBEE stake outside of HE witness voting and mining BEE tokens?

There's nothing they have discussed, it just seems they are more interested in BEE, rather than workerbee.

The main thing is always the family. I see the objective intact, especially for a reason. You will never lose the most important thing that is the knowledge acquired and that will allow you to grow even stronger.

Believe it or not, this is the first I've seen of the #ThriveOnHive bit. I've been here almost 5 years now (although I left for a couple years in the middle) and I've come up with my own version of this. I didn't realize it was out there as a written-about process. I'll definitely be checking it out.
I'm up to about 13 HIVE/day, which I'm pretty happy about, and right now, I don't do any posting of my own material. Just passive rewards from games, LPs, etc., and curation. I will be interested to see what sort of ideas the challenge has to help me grow that number.
Sorry to hear that you're going to have to dip into the fund for real-life stuff, but it's nice to know that doing all of this stuff can have a positive impact in dealing with that same real world. I'm still at the point where this all still feels somewhat like a game. I know it's real, but at the same time, it's fun and anything gained stays in the system and doesn't really affect my current financial situation. I'm definitely looking forward to the day when I can start using crypto to enhance the lives and me and my family. With HIVE, I really feel like those days are coming, hopefully sooner than we think.

Adding a few WORKERBEE is quite a challenge for me. I have 7 and my goal is just to reach 100. As for BEE, if I can reach 1,000, that would be great.
I'm not selling them and I'll keep adding them, but they just dont seem to talk about them ever anymore. But there's lots of BEE talk.

I agree it is a blessing. I am continuing to grow my stake on the Hive Platform and hope in a few years that it will provide some extra income so that it can supplement my retirement. But first I need to accumulate for a few more years. One day at a time. Take care.
