The New 'Mini-Office-In-A-Corner-Nook'!
After a few days of unpacking we're slowly getting through the mountain of boxes!
Here's a life hack for you if you plan on moving anytime soon...On moving day, make sure the boxes go to the rooms they are intended to. We've spent 2 full days now moving boxes from the living room (where they were all dumped) to various rooms around the house...
Anywho...
Something I really enjoy doing is setting up my new office space. And the amount I have moved over the past 4-5 years, I've done it a few times lol
It's like my little sanctuary here in the home and it's where I can get to work and focus on business!
Here's the problem with this house...
There is no 'door' to this office, and I'm literally stuck in a small nook in the corner of the living room lol
I'm improvising and have it so that my computer is tucked away to limit the sound when I'm doing live streams and recordings but wow...This is going to be an adventure.
I'm not going to lie though, I love this set up because if you can see from this picture below now...I'm facing the family room which allows me to keep an eye on the 'crazies' a.k.a. my kids!
(You can see the rug of the living room in the top left corner. And don't pay attention to the screen, I'm not playing #Splinterlands...I promise!!!)
I put my diplomas and certificates up for the time being. And this may seem a little egotistical but I use it as motivation. I have a bunch of different training in various fields so I look at them to remind myself...Any problem, I can figure it out!!
We're not completely finished setting up the living room, so there is still a few things that need to be moved around, but without storage options within my 'nook of an office', I have a bunch of my printers, laminators and file cabinets spread around the room.
Hey, that's the sacrifices my family will have to make...It's the least they could do since they threw me into a corner nook after all ;)
And here's my 'wall'...(I'm sure I'll come up with something fancier later to name it lol Vision wall or something...)
It looks like a custom shelf that the previous owners had, but I'm using it for my whiteboard day planner, a few books, my journals and if you can find the 'Hive community member' in that pic....Be sure to tag him ;)
If you find him and tag him, I'll send ya a tip or two!

It's the first time in years I haven't had a door to shut, to keep the outside world out...But this is new! My family in front of me, and behind me is the porch doors which opens up to our back yard.
Working from home isn't always the glitz and glamor they may say it is. However what it does bring, time with your family and the ability to be around them, truly is priceless!

Your new mini office looks so cool. I've got one, but the only thing that remains permanent there is my table. Aside from that, everything else is mobile. Since, where I live, it is a bad idea to use a desktop computer, electricity is not the possession of every man.
And for this:
I can't agree less, what I enjoy more is this feeling of freedom and being in control it affords me (though thoe feelings could be illusive, but its good they are there).

Your office looks good. Except Apple monitor, I think my setup is same as you. I have a window to the right. Kind of a good during the day time but I make sure to put on a dark curtain at night lol. Hope you are adjusting to the new place and getting comfortable with the Starlink and Hive back again.
I'll never use anything other than MACs ;)

Lol, it's not a bad start I'll say. It's actually really good. There's more space for maneuvering around. The scenery is inspiring too.

I also like small places-offices where everything is around me. You can put roller blinds on the ceiling and pull them down when you have a live stream or a recording.
Or just give them some melatonin and get them sleeping!!!! lol

Live streams will be challenging... But I've seen people do it. Even with small kids in the room and the TV on and pretty loud that I could hear it in the background. I wondered at the time how he could keep his train of thoughts with all the distractions.
It's only been a few days...And so far, it's been o.k.. The big test is if they listen and keep quiet when I'm streaming lol

I find it really hard to operate with just a single screen these days. I have two each on the home and work set-ups (actually 3 in the office). I just find that makes me more productive.
Do you find noise to be an issue? With no door you are relying on the house being quiet. I don't have any sound treatment in my study/office, but it doesn't seem too bad.
So far, it's been o.k.. This house has always been madness, so I'm used to the noise from the kids.

I like your mini office in a corner nook. My little corner is in the living room also, and with 3 dogs surrounding me, it´s pretty busy. But also enjoyable.
LOL I have the pup right by my feet right now...Pretty sure the other two are running around outside going after birds lol
