What's The Best Way To Manage Rentals?

avatar

I've been giving it a lot of thought, and even gave it a few days into the new season...

But it's just not worth it anymore for me to 'play' Splinterlands as much as I do.

The rewards have been really bad, the competition seems super tough and ranking up to collect crates seems to have gotten that much harder. So I have decided to dive into renting my cards out to players that could benefit from them...

And heck, you can even earn a little bit along the way :)

So I've looked at both automatic rental options and feel that Splex is the best route to go...

However, I have some questions, that I hope the community can help me out with...

Here's my path that I feel could be the proper way to manage these assets. I'd love to know if I'm missing a step or have any feedback on the process...

Step 1: Create a new account, specific for the rentals.

Step 2: Take the assets from my main account, and transfer ownership to the new account.

Step 3: Use Splex to manage the rentals

The first question I would have though....

Does the new account need a Spellbook?

And is there any steps I'm missing? Or helpful hints that you could offer for a noob in the rental game?

I spent a bit this morning manually renting out some cards, and I've decided....It's time LOL

Would love to get your feedback and thoughts on this....

Eager to get details on this. I've spent DAYS setting up rentals but here's the thing. Some of those were setup with DEC was like a penny each! So in reality they should be renting out for like 10x the amount of DEC. Plus more people are adding rentals into the system etc and it makes it a real pain to optimize. Automated rental like this might be a legit move so keep us updated! I don't think a spell book is required on the new account you'll of course need some hive though for transactions.

Yeah I would just deleegate for sure for all the transations, but yeah I'll gladly pay the management fee so I dont have to deal with it lol

I honestly don't know if the new Spliterlands account would need a Spellbook.

You just have to pay the invoice weekly or go prepaid as I do :D
Also, your new account need enough RC for the system to work, so depending on how many cards you have/rent out the delegated HP will change

And it's pretty simple to use right?

Just press a few buttons and it does it's thing?

Thanks for the info :)

Yes, exactly :D
Press "Enable" and well, done :P
As long as your alt have enough RC to operate, thats the most important part as you know :D

Yeah Splex is done on their website /app....While Spinterrents is done through Discord. The extra 5% is a convenience fee I suppose. I'd pay it for less headaches lol

Can I ask why start a new account? Are there concerns with permissions or security with Splex?
I have read that Splinterrents only asks for posting key, so was thinking of using a main account.
Thanks for this thread, it feels really really timely

You don’t want splex to accidentally rent out cards that you want to play with yourself

Yeah just for separation of what I wanna rent vs anything I wanna keep for playing purposes. It's only the posting key, they can't do anything with the cards other than rent them out.

I am also considering using a rental automation service. It just doesn't seem like I have the time to really check on them. Do you know how much RC they need to keep everything running?

If you use the standard setting, then it is quite minimal.

There is an aggressive setting that requires a lot of rc, but I haven’t tried that yet

I was going to delegate a bunch of HP...And looks like I'd need a few 1000 to the account for what I wanna do. The magic of HP lol

I’m using Splex.gg as well.

You don’t need a spelbook to be able to trade/rent

So, just set and forget.

I started to move all the common gold foil cards I get and don’t use on my playing account to my rental account and it is awesome to see them getting rented within an hour or so.

Yeah I'm debating if I wanna move all the cards, or just the ones I never play with....I still enjoy playing the game, but the rewards have been less than impressive these past few weeks.

The competition for rewards has become really tough over the last few weeks.

It seems that a lot of people and bots use the low rental prices to rent max level cards for their league

I have had a hard time to stay in gold league, where before I would easily be able to do that

I did see a post from a guy that offered his 20k+ accounts bot farm for sale. So apparently the last few changes have been difficult for bot farmers

You don't need a spellbook unless you want to play with the account and earn rewards. But you should log into that account with Splinterlands to be 'marked' as a Splinterlands account. Otherwise, if you want to transfer cards to that account from PeakMonsters, it will tell you the account exists, but it's not a Splinterlands account.

A few intermediary steps.

1.a. Ask GenepoolChlrn8r in their discord to add your account as a management account. He is usually quite responsive. It's the only time you actually need to interact with them unless you want to.
2.a. Delegate HP to the new account. They say 100 HP per 100 cards. Lower if the number of cards is higher (meaning less than 100 HP per 100 cards). The interface will tell you exactly how much it needs, once you add the cards.

So you would use PeakMonsters to move all the cards? I guess it would be easier than right on Splinterlands? I have really never used Peak that much.

Yep, definitely easier. You can bulk move cards, which you can't do on Splinterlands unless they are versions of the same card.

There are lots of ways to get rewards, renting is just one, great if you have spare card’s you don’t use.

Any time I have made another account it gives me low score and makes you stay with the account you got. Has lost hive 2 times Keychain got it back one time .

This time phone got damaged and if it wasn't for leofiniance I wouldn't be posted this message.

I'm very excited to be as far as I'm with just my cell phone as for trying so hard with CTP years ago and felled then I left one site in my phone millionleadsforfree which I give up on just tired of no one signing up .But,you give me the idea to go for free bitcoin and I love gambling on my free sites playing for 10,000 is exciting..
