Fly-Themed Rewards, Splinterlands Again

Everyone can agree at the moment that Splinterlands now takes more effort, strategy, commitment, skin, and energy to win, but since this seems attractive on the surface, the competition makes it more difficult to win now. I have come up against some level 4 monsters lately, I've won some, and I've lost the others.

This wasn't the same as when people just had to win three or five matches to unlock their chests. However, players have more opportunities to win more loot, but does more loot necessarily mean more monetary value? No. This is because sometimes we're carried away by the concept of quantity. After all, sometimes numbers seem to matter a lot to us, we get the illusion that more loot means more money.

Now, while this can be true, it isn't entirely true. I've never had the opportunity to play in the gold or diamond league, maybe if I had first-hand experience, I'll be able to say more. However, all I can say is many people measure their time by the value they're getting, they then divide it by the money they've invested into the game in other to measure how much they're making, this is what proves whether their time is worth the money they're making. As for me, I spend several hours a day playing splinterlands, sometimes I spend close to five hours, naturally, this time might be channeled into something more resourceful but then this isn't how I measure it.

In reality, I'm playing splinterlands to accumulate whatever rewards I can no matter the value. $0.03, or $0.05. I try not to calculate the effort I'm putting in because if I do, it'll amount to a substantial loss. Originally my investment of around $900 has taken a huge beating, but I wouldn't completely say I'm losing because these assets have been very valuable in-game. So if I calculate the in-game value and the dollar value, there's a huge disparity, but at the same time, I do not consider myself a loser.

Back when I started playing, I bought some CL packs and still had to spend some dollars to buy potions to open them, but over time, I've accumulated a lot of potions from playing, now imagine if it's possible to sell back these potions, maybe in the future (theoretically). So I try as much as possible not to measure the monetary value of the time taken to play the game especially when the aim is to accumulate as much as possible for opportunities to come in the future.

Fly 💸 Me Some Monsters

So, my yesterday's daily focus was FIRE, but since I was concentrating on my daily focus I had to also try to win other element games especially because I'm accumulating loots for the end of the season. This has limited me with how emphatic I've been with daily focus. But then, I guess many players will try as much as possible to win their daily focus and also accumulate more end of the season loot. Nevertheless, it was good to see my three loot be all flying monsters, not that this is something unusual but it's the first time I'm getting such a daily focus reward.

Playing splinterlands has gotten tougher, especially against those expensive level-three or, four magic, life monsters. But I've taken this challenge to be exciting. Although I have been very limited because I cannot Open my CL Packs, I want to wait for the end of the airdrop to open them and buy a few other monsters in other to keep competing.

Flying monsters are quite useful because they dodge more attacks but I find that I don't use them as often if there isn't earthquake on the field.

I love to use them especially if they're magic monsters, they're almost unbeatable.

I look at it in a similar way as I see the multiples of cards stacking up. These can be leveled up, and over time help to build a powerful deck that can be played or rented out. Plus, I just enjoy the pleasure of opening new chests and seeing what's inside! :)

I'm hoping to begin building my deck after the SPS airdrop is over, for now I do not want to lose my drop when opening my cards, I reckon I'll be able to challenge better when I begin leveling up my cards.
