Splinterlands: Looking To Join A Guild.

The decision to give out merit as part of splinterlands' rewards was one of the reasons why I decided to join a guild.

Although I already thought of joining a long time ago, but I just felt my deck wasn't strong enough to compete and if I only lose, what would be the value-added towards myself and my Guild members?

So I decided to work at my own pace. Joining a guild would come with a specific expectation and even if I decide to join, how am I so sure I would build my deck within a specific timeframe since I wouldn't be able to pinpoint a specific period when I might have enough money to keep building my deck?

Of course, I loved building, but I didn't want to do so because of the pressure or expectations

Money wasn't and still isn't something that comes around every day, so I might not be able to build my deck and probably get stuck at some point while my guild members are growing.

Hypothetically, I might just be speaking in the worst-case scenario, but I didn't know if I was going to meet up to expectations because of my inability to meet certain rules, which may create unfriendly vibes, hence I decided not to join. I cannot call myself an avid rules person.

Joining became irresistible

The only thing I know is that if I'm allocated games in a guild, I'll try as much as possible to win, but any other rules might be flouted not because I want to, but probably because of certain circumstances which I might not be able to control. Fast-forward to this month, the idea of joining a guild became relevant again.
The new splinter ruleset "Are you not entertained" means players can now play gladiator cards in normal games. This has changed the trajectory. With the soulbound summoners now, you can field up to two extra gladiator cards which makes it even more externally Incentivizing to be a guild person at this point.

You need A Cheat code to win on splinterlands these days

Originally, the whole incentive that comes with a guild is internal: the merit and the SPS rewards don't impact anything in-game. But people bringing in their gladius cards to do battle in normal games is certainly a game changer for me.

It's like making some exception to incentive a certain set of people, because of a decision they've made earlier which completely changes the whole dynamics. That was certainly my clue to join a guild as fast as possible because one cannot possibly use gladius cards without being part of any active guild.

I hoped this wasn't the case, but I was wrong

Earlier in February, I got an invite for a guild, but I think I saw it too late the role has now when filled, but then the whole idea of joining a guild was always countered by the fact that I do not enjoy working on schedules.

I checked out the splinterlands' discord and I was right. A lot of Guild rules were just too strict for me. Some of them required heavy DEC donations, some required complete level 3 summoners and above, while some others required avid discord presence.

I checked for guilds where I could do things at my own pace and I really couldn't find any. Even when I find, some certain rule tends to just throw everything under the bus.

I couldn't find the whole flexibility I wanted.

Over time, my ability to stay active on discord has waned, and that's because of a lot that's happening with me. So after so much searching, I still couldn't find that flexible and suitable guild.

In the past, I didn't have a lot of trust in my deck, but over time, I've come to decently invest a bit in it and can now play in Gold 2 modern.

I now have over 78k collection Power, but I still have some of my summoners in level 2, while the others are in level 3.

The money to just take them (my summoners) beyond this level hasn't been there, and I'm not in a haste to do so, because even though my pace might be quite slower than I know, the fact that I don't have a target on my back allows me to do things within my timeframe.

Also, heavy DEC donations aren't something I can really do at the moment

the uncertainty of my pocket makes it so. It's the bear market and I want to focus on building, hence all resources are tailored towards the preparation for the bull market.

On the flip side, I'll keep looking for a flexible and suitable guild to join, because, at this point, it's become really incentivizing to ignore.

I don’t know much about Splinterlands and I don’t understand much about guilds either. But I know the Neoxian city has a Splinterlands guild and would love to have you.

Really, man. Aside Splinterlands, there might be other fun stuff in the city that’ll interest you. Like the games I run weekly:) Lol I’m not normally the advertising type but it seems that’s what I’m doing right now. Sorry. But if you want to check the city out, I’ll share an invite.🙂

Yeah, I know about the guild, firstly I think it's by invitation, plus i don't know their requirements as well, requirements are always important, to see if one actually qualifies, but the aim of writing this post is to help me decide what I'm eventually going to do.

I'm also struggling with the guild thing but my situation is a bit different. I'm in the guild but the problem is that I'm the only one taking part in Brawls. :D

I've been in it a long time and had a break myself and when I came back seemed that every other member stopped playing. I'm kinda wishing that active players would join our guild cos I don't wanna leave for the same reasons you explained - it's damn hard to find a suitable guild!

These are the reasons I didn't want to join even when my deck got better. I didn't know what to expect with people, how it's going to work and having great team members including growing the guild. I'm going to keep looking. I don't want to join any guild too quickly and regret it, so that's why I'm taking my time as well, but I also want to join quick too, so that I can improve my game play in the first tier.

Hopefully you can sort yours out.

Good reasoning there. For me, the Merits are a real motivator. At least I can win a couple of games by myself and usually won't end up in the last spot. Just hoping the other guys wake up so we can get more! :)

Hope you find a good guild, Brawls is a great addition to the game!

If you want a new guild you should join mine! My guys are active in brawls and do pretty well. We have 3 spots and ours is level 6 right now, halfway to level 7. We have a few inactive people but we are doing pretty well and the activity should pick up in the next couple of months I think! Would love to have you. No pressure, just a bunch of friends hanging out and having fun. We do ask for 100 DEC per month but haven’t enforced it since the change away from DEC as battle rewards.

Would love to have you join an active guild! We used to be rank 50 but fell back a bit with various things happening.

I'm very interested! Sounds just like a guild I'd love to join and 100/month is not a problem. The thing is that I'm only in Silver at the moment with CP of 15,500 but I'm constantly investing in SPL and growing my account. Plus, I'm a very active player and it goes without saying I'm not missing any brawls! :)

So if my (currently) low CP is not an issue, I'd be more than happy to join!

Not an issue man! We’ve got people in bronze right now. I’m trying to log into Splinterlands right now but it’s being a pain in the ass lol once I get it, I’ll send an invite over!

I am sure you will find one suitable for you, there are lots out there I was lucky to be invited back then by Clove71 and am glad that despite not knowing details about the guild I joined. It has been fun so far.

I'll keep being on the hunt for a suitable one. I think eventually I'll find, it's become really necessary at this point. I have to get it done

Although I already thought of joining a long time ago, I just felt my deck wasn't strong enough to compete and if I only lose, what would be the value-added towards myself and my Guild members?

I had the same feeling before and that's why I delayed joining a guild. However, when @gadrian posted an announcement that the Dark Assassins were accepting new members, I tried. I never regretted the decision. It was actually a game-changer for me and it helped a lot to strengthen my deck.

Yeah, it seems like even splinterlands is making it juicier to join a guild, with the newer rulesets. I have no doubt It'll be a game changer. Didn't think of joining all these while, it's now become inevitable.

Yeah, it looks like the game is more favorable for those who hold Gladius cards.

Hey man you’re welcome in my guild in Splinterlands! It’s not the highest rank right now but it’s got a solid group of players and we’ve got some newer folks who are learning the ropes. There are so many advantages to a guild beyond just competing in brawls! You get extra DEC per battle and you get a discount on the item purchases which used to correlate to packs as well but they seemed to have stopped that.

There’s also just a donation of 100 DEC a month I think, so it’s really pretty minimal! The only reason for that is so we can level up the hall and allow more people in to be honest. We haven’t enforced it much though since battle rewards are no longer in DEC but people donate to help out.

You should join though man we have 3 spots!

Thanks a lot for the heads up. The DEC contribution isn't even an issue. The only issue is having to contribute thousands of DEC impromptu and all the time. Thanks for letting me know about this. I'll like to take advantage and join then, let me know how to go about it.

I sent an invite across to you! Hopefully you get it and join, the group we’ve got here has been grinding away since 2019 lol we have a pretty good team of people! I’m currently renting all my cards right now but when the next set of packs comes out I’m going to get some and play again, I took a few months off to recharge and step away for a bit.

Would be great to have you in the guild! Don’t worry about the DEC donations, it’s not a big deal anymore since they stopped giving it as rewards. We do what we can lol

Oh wow you're not playing at the moment? Alright, I'll be sure to join, and please, let me know if any update, that's necessary or important..

Had some life things come up but I log onto the application every few days to chat with the guys, donate and manage things. I was playing too much, have two accounts and things were getting hectic. I’m now saving up for the next release! I think I might start playing again in May, which is sadly 2 weeks away.. I’ve got some big projects at work that I’ve been focusing on but should wind down then.

I think it's a good idea to join a guild and I think it's about 100 DEC per season for my current guild. They are thinking of doubling it after the next building upgrade so I think the other guild said in the comments would be a better option for you.

Thanks for the heads up. One of the reasons why I made the decision to write this post is because I was going to get options after writing this post and I actually did. As for your guild, I don't even think the level of my cards would be suitable enough.
