Splinterlands: My End Of The Season.
Getting into Gold 2 was the highlight of last season for me. Although my rewards per chest were reduced, I will attribute that to the inconsistencies in my play. I started the season poorly, partly because my head was not really in the game and I was hooked with my numerous hospital sessions and visitations.
I got 35 gold chests which was lesser than the 39 I got two seasons ago, and I don't really think this season's reward is any different from last season, except I got less SPS and more merit.
The consistency of the types of cards in my rewards is almost the same.
It seems as if some soulbound rewards are only given when you permanently play in the gold league and earn diamond chests. To be very honest, the rewards are not as solid without the CL packs, and unless more SPS is being incorporated into the rewards, I guess the bigger investors get fairly good rewards from time to time.
However, I've bought a Gladius case is another highlight of the season for me. I got 1.7k merits, and one thing about merit is that you could be lucky to pull a 10k DEC gold foil or even better....50k. But it's always rare, I'd say one out of ten, your chances are 1/10. Splinterlands is a game of luck, but your luck is more likely with a superior or higher active participation, like more investments or better skin in the game.
So far I have opened over 50 Gladius cases if my calculations are right and I have only been lucky to get high-end Gladius cards about 3 times, now calculate the odds. This time, however, it was the regular cards, but I was still delighted to have the opportunity to buy another Gladius case. Building my soulbound cards and summoners continues, this time I got just above 18.95 SPS and it's good to continue accumulating SPS.
SPS is currently doing well in the market, and accumulating not only helps you to better your chances of getting better rewards but also the prospect of taking profit during the bull market. So I can say my rewards are not really different from 3 seasons now despite the difference in the numbers of the chest. Now coming to the in-game competition. The games are harder at the beginning of the season get easier in the middle and get harder again towards the end.

........and we have until 4 days before the unveiling of rebellion. I have only 4 packs anyway, not that it matters, but in no time, rebellion cards will flock into the market changing the rubrics of the competition once again.

It's interesting to hear about your perspective on the rewards and the challenges you faced during the season. SPS and merit rewards can indeed be a bit inconsistent, but the game is indeed a game of luck, and your participation and investment in the game can impact your chances of success.
Congratulations on opening over 50 Gladius cases and sorry about only being lucky to get high-end Gladius cards about 3 times.

The 50 cases were opened in over a period of 7 to 8 months, some people earn more merit because of their guild though, so it depends. As for splinterlands, so many aspects needs the right attention and the right strategy, it takes money and time too.

Looks like some cards can have nice upgrades. I'm looking forward to Rebellion as well. Hoping to pick up some cards on the market if they're reasonably priced.
Yeah, the only advantage is having card upgrades and having new abilities as well. Looking forward to a better season next season.
On the pack front, I only have 4 Rebellion packs as well. Not too bad EOS there! It's odd how random the chests are, sometimes you hit the figurative lotto and other times it seems like "why did I bother to even open them..."! Hopefully our small Rebellion packs will be lucky ones, maybe a nice gold foil legendary!

Not bad rewards, better than my zero lol but I’ll eventually make my way back into the game! I think maybe the rebellion set will help get me back into it. I want to use the cards after all!
