Splinterlands: Rebellion || An Analysis Of The Ongoing Presale

png_20231024_102539_0000.png

Rebellion is already a massive success, and I think this is because the presale has exceeded the expectations of the team. Originally, Matt said they were expecting a sale of 250k packs by the end of November 18th, but as of yesterday, that target is almost achieved and it's still the 6th day into the presale.

For me, I think Matt was just being modest about 250k sales being a massive success, and the remaining unpurchased packs might probably be burned.

Irrespective of Matt's modesty, I feel that 250k was a target because it might be the right sum that might generate just enough income for the DAO and other external expenses, but from what I'm getting, there's already been a revenue generation of over $800k, in just 6 days into the presale. *Will this same energy continue till the last day of the presale?" I'm not sure, I believe that FOMO is also responsible for the massive sales in the beginning.

This isn't a bad thing.

I think a lot of people who bought the packs at the beginning of the sales wanted to go in early, because who knows? Nobody knows whether there will be an instant sellout.

Not knowing what to expect from fellow investors, plus the eagerness surrounding the presale is why we've seen a massive sale Presales are always met with massive FOMO whenever it comes to splinterlands. I remember some limited editions way back during the Chaos Legion and how they tend to sell out in a matter of minutes, I remember the LUX VEGA and even the Doctor Blight.

So it's safe to say that apart from the fact that some Splinterlands investors have deep pockets, we also have a portion of the crowds that are die-hard followers/fans/lovers of the game irrespective of the fact that they're critics themselves.

Who wouldn't?

Splinterlands turned some investors into millionaires (in dollars) in 2021, so it's not unexpected that some investors will be looking to become millionaires in 2024/25. That taste of success is massively working in Splinterlands' favor.

They're a proven success, a tested and trusted merchandise that might just create wealth for the right investors. This is why they have a solid follower and investor base.

Before now, however, splinterlands have faced massive criticism over some questionable decisions that might create solutions to niggling problems. Why not? People who are vested want to create an avenue of trust where they're certain their investment will stay relevant and multiplicable in the near future.

The timing of Rebellion was deemed to be wrong by many people. I also felt the timing was wrong. I think this is why Matt and the team were a bit uncertain about the reception.

This is why the burn mechanism was probably added as a clause. To keep the value and reduce the excess in the circulation. Good move. Not knowing the reception is good because it creates a balance that top-notch value must be created unless quality reception is not guaranteed.

However, irrespective of the divided opinion on the timing of Rebellion, there was still a very decent reception, this shows that investors still believe in the quality and future of the game irrespective of the temporary mishaps and impact caused by the bear market.

I believe the FOMO will double down soon enough, I don't know if the pack price will reduce over the course of selling for one year, but this rebellion has started on a positive note. If you check the leaderboard, you'll see some regular names, meaning that Splinterlands is retaining the crowd while adding to the rank.

Of course, I feel a lot of players will be nearing to become millionaires in late 2024 in splinterlands. It's a nice thing to slowly get back. For me, I don't even have the motivation and money to do so

The guaranteed promo card for buying 10 packs looks very tempting. 100 packs is beyond my budget at this point lol.

I cannot even afford up to 10 packs, but the bonuses are quite tempting, true.

Cool to see you bought some packs! I think if crypto continues to see green candle days there is a good chance it sells out within the month.

Yes, I bought about 4. Don't know if I can afford more than that, maybe in the coming months. Thank you

I agree that the pre-sale is still a success even if the timing is wrong. I did get 100 packs for the pre-sale myself but it did mess up some of my plans.

Of course, there was no way that getting 100 packs will not mess your plans, it's inevitable. But it might be a blessing in disguise.
