We finished strong again this time as the ranked 1 while matching against IMMORTAL GODS 8 and ILLUMINATI PROJECT.

Match Analysis

This will be a quick analysis of the brawl matches I had at Fray 9 with Silver League cap. I had 5 matches with 3 wins, 1 loss, and 1 opponent fled (also a win).

Match 1: https://splinterlands.com?p=battle&id=sm_zIuCL5EEpDdfEvDzeTge&ref=jpleron

Being Opportunistic!!!

In this match, the ruleset was Fog of War which removes the Sneak and Snipe abilities from our monsters. In this ruleset, monsters at the first position will usually be the target since no other attack ability aside from Opportunity, Reach and Scattershot can be used. For me, if you are going with melee monsters, Opportunity will be the best strategy. My option here is to go for either Water or Fire. If I opted to go for Water splinter, Isgald (Gladius with Opportunity) and Deeplurker (Opportunity) will be my option. But I decided to go with Fire since I have a legendary Gladius card with Opportunity ability. Fina Voxom has higher stats for a 5 mana monsters. And in brawl matches, it is always better to build your strategy with the focus on your Gladius monster.

High Mana Magic!!!

The ruleset are Broken Arrows so it means no Ranged monsters on the field. The second ruleset is Spreading Fury which means monsters will increase their melee damage and speed when they received a damage. Melee monsters with high damage and speed benefits most from this ruleset so I decided to have a combination of Magic and Melee in my line-up. And since the mana capacity for this match is at 52, Dragon splinter is the most obvious choice due to Dragon monsters has normally requires a high mana to be deployed. Unfortunately, my enemy used a full magic line-up, something my line-up was at a disadvantage. They easily burst my tanks due to the high magic damage partnered with a Summoner that increases magic damage.

Match 3: https://splinterlands.com?p=battle&id=sm_F7uNEwuYYc0bvDBS3Vl4&ref=jpleron

Thorn Battle

It was a battle between monsters with Thorns. With a 12 mana cap and Up Close and Personal ruleset, I decided to go with Dragon Splinter and getting Djinn Chwala. While my enemy used Mylor Crowling as the summoner, which by the way is the best Summoner for this ruleset. Our strategy is basically the same with using Thorns to provide a return damage to attacking monsters. The match was supposedly a draw since both our last monster died at the same time, but since it is a brawl and we had the home team advantage (obtained from Barracks level 1), I managed to win the match and scored points for our guild. Hooray!!!

Match 4: https://splinterlands.com?p=battle&id=sm_LK4lNiwLOnKYIYHg7CLI&ref=jpleron

Stealth Opportunity

This is a high mana battle with Even Stevens which means only monsters with even mana cost can be used. This cuts the monster selection by half since monsters with odd mana cannot be used. We also have Equal Opportunity ruleset which means that all monsters will gained Opportunity ability, allowing them to target monsters with the lowest health.

I decided to go for Death Splinter and used monsters with Camouflage ability. With the help of the Camouflage, the enemy monsters won't be able to target them as long as they are not in the first position, even if they had the lowest health. This means they can freely attack without thinking of being killed easily.

Splinterlands is a digital, collectible card game built on blockchain technology. It is similar in concept to games like Magic the Gathering and Hearthstone where you build up a collection of cards, which all have various different stats and abilities, and use them to battle other players in skill-based matches. By using blockchain technology, players can buy, sell, and trade their digital assets freely just as if they were physical cards, and all transactions are recorded publicly and immutably.
