Splinterlands' Tank Heal - Life Leech combo with Byzantine Kitty

Hi guys, it's been 1 month already since I played Splinterlands and I definitely enjoying this game. Anyway, this post is about a battle I lost and the strategy my oppponent used. It may not be new to most of the active players here but atleast some newbies like me would get some ideas on it.

My opponent uses a Tank Heal and Life Leech combo.

  • Tank Heal restores 1/3 of the max health (rounded down) of the Monster in the first position each round.
  • Life Leech regains monster's health in proportion to the damage it dealth while also increasing it max HP.

Life Leech increases monster's max HP which means it is best paired with Tank Heal combo. Keep in mind that if you are using this combo, it is better to have you monster with Life Leech ability to stack some HPs before making it as a tank.

In the match that I will show you, my opponent's Ancient Lich reaches a maximum HP of 47. Which means a Tank Heal ability can restore a maximum of 15 HP.

You can also try these combo using Monster's with Tank Heal though it will only be effective when that monster is protected. Since BYZANTINE KITTY is a Summoner, you don't need to worry about it being attack.

Counter to this combo:

  1. AFFLICTION. Using affliction to prevent target monsters to be healed. There are a lot of monsters and even Summoner like Mimosa Nightshade that has this ability. Life Leech and other abilities like Scavenger still recovers HP even if they are affected by affliction.

  2. CRIPPLE. This is the direct opposite of Life Leech at is reduces the max health of the target monster by one. Although it is not as effective as the affliction in this case.

  3. Target first the Monster with the Tank Heal ability. This is not effective when dealing with Byzantine Kitty.

  4. Reduce the damage dealt by monster's with Life Leech ability. The lower the damage, the less HP they regen.

  5. Kill the monsters with Life Leech ability before they even accumulate massive HP.

That was really amusing watching how Ancien Lich reached 47 HP!
Kitty is stronger and combo-ed with Lich seems even better.

I will definitely try this combo someday. Dark Ha'on also plays a big part on this one.
Other Splinters aside from Dark can also be use for this combo (Taunt and Life Leech).

and that 15 HP heal is too much... If not with fatigue, it will definitely reach more haha
