Hi, I'll try to give you a very simple summary here. Cards with close attack can only strike from the first position, cards with magic attack can strike from any position, while cards with ranged attack can only strike if they are not in the first position. When a card with ranged attack is in the first position, it will not attack and will take hits from the opponent's card.
