CHAOS LACKEY Fanart! | Splinterlands Art Contest Week 279!

Hi there aliens of hive and specially to splinterlands, looks like i am going to have a consistent weekly entry for this art contest. Since I am able to have a place in last weeks contest and received some card packs I decided that I will sketch a card from the packs that I received and Chaos Lackey happened to be one of the cards. Well I want to give him a different look from the original and I love animes a lot so my art style leans towards more of it. Okay enough with the intro lets hop on to the art process...

Art Process

Materials / Software Used: Clip Studio Paint and my three year old! XP PEN Artist 12.

• From what I learned recently by watching the process of renowned artist they don't put too much line in their draft process and instead just visualize the large shapes so you wont have trouble when you need to color or draw clean line art. But anyway I still use blue ink color for the messy lines.
  

• Now I started the clean line art for Chaos Lackey and I tried to use different thickness depending on the details, thicker when it is closer to the viewer's perspective and thinner when it is farther.
  

• I used the same color theme of Chaos Lackey here , just color pick from the reference.
  

• Now I shade the areas that likely will have shadows, just color pick the base color then slightly slide the picker lower then turn right, you could opt to select the left part but its just my thing.

• Then I blurred the edges of the shades or you could also call this step rendering.
  

• Then i added highlights and rendered it using blurring tool and fingertip.
  

FINAL ART

• Lastly is adding details and checking if you missed something.
