HOW TO BEAT THE UNTAMED - YODIN
HOW TO BEAT THE UNTAMED - YODIN
Introduction
Character Focus - Yodin Zaku
How to deal with Yodin
- Shield will help soak up some of that Blast damage and keep your monsters in the game for that little bit longer.
- Taunt will draw their attacks to the specific monster and away from any glass canons. A word of warning with this one though, ensure your taunting monster can take the hits and make sure the adjacent monster/s can as well, maybe ensure they have Shield.
- Swiftness and Slow as mentioned already will benefit you greatly against this summoner.
- Backfire could be good if you have some fast monsters with additional evasion abilities like flying or dodge, sending that damage back onto your attacker.
- Blindness is good to help your team avoid those incoming attacks.
- Maybe even consider Headwinds to negate that +1 ranged damage buff Yodin gives.
Effective Summoners
I write this from my own perspective here as I don't have many summoners outside of the Chaos Legion, so there maybe other potential summoners that would work as well.
First of all Kelya the Water summoner is very good, giving you +1 speed and armour, both of which are incredibly useful against Yodin's Blast ability.
Secondly, Quix the Dragon summoner is great, giving you a -1 to your opponent's speed and ranged attack, negating the ranged boost Yodin gives.
Battle Summaries
Battle One - Sees me fielding Quix the Devious against Yodin. You can see here that I selected the Chaos Dragon with Blindness to help with my ability to evade incoming attacks. Also a number of units have the flying ability to help with this and my rear guard, although low health, has backfire. I have also included the Diamond Dragon to give my opponent an additional -1 speed alongside what Quix offers.
Battle Two - Again, I choose Yodin here. He is so good against Yodin it's almost a no brainer. Again we see the choice of the Chaos Dragon for Blindness and the Diamond Dragon for -1 speed. In addition you can see I have used the Carnage Titan with Shield to give me a strong Blast damage buffer and the Supply Runner to give me some extra speed.
Battle Three - I try Keyla out against Yodin. The extra speed was really helpful and with the added armour from both Keyla and the Wave Smith, I was happy I could soak up some of that incoming Blast damage. Just to be on the safe side, I positioned Djinn Oshannus in the rear guard. With his fast speed and Phase ability, I was hoping he could hold up the rear in case they came at me from that angle.

Good read/reminders especially for new players as they're bound to run into Yodin. Sharing this on https://twitter.com/PraetoriaDigest.
Thanks for the feedback. I think Yodin will be even tougher once Countess Sinash is released!
