Chaos Legion pack purchase and Cards update
I played Splinterlands for a much longer period of time during the weekend. My strategy was to reach Bronze I in terms of rating points and then buy card packs to increase my Power so that I could get better rewards for when the season ends. I was able to do so and then I started buying the packs.

This time around, for every pack I opened, I purchased 5 legendary and 5 alchemy potions. TBH, I do not see the point of Gold Foil cards. I mean, firstly, I did not feel that Alchemy potions were making any difference. I have opened card packs before without any potions and have still got Gold Foil cards. I don't think I got any extra cards from purchasing all the Alchemy potions. Second, I don't think, Level 1 Gold Foil cards are worth the extra potion charge. There is usually a bump up in 1 or 2 stats, and I feel one is better saving up the credits. I mean they are cheap but the number of credits piles up when one wants to buy 1000 packs!

I have purchased 27 packs so far.

Legendary potions help. I definitely got legendary cards because of using those potions and the earthquake that precludes the legendary card opening is pretty cool!

I also got a card in the most recent card airdrop. This was the Legendary Spirit Hoarder -

Let's take a look at some of the best cards that I got during the 20 packs I opened a couple of days ago. I will later pick up my favorite ones and tell you why I like them.

Legendary Monsters

Epic Monsters

My favourites from the above

Tusk the Wide
image.png

Tusk the Wide is an excellent choice for the front position when playing with Level 1 4 Mana Summoner - Tarsa (+1 Melee & +1 Life). Not only will it be protected against magic attacks, Tarsa increases its health by 1 more. This can survive a number of rounds and is ideal for low mana battles.

Grund

Grund is incredible. It attacks twice. Has Good health, good Speed and does 3 Melee damage. This can destroy the best of the opponent's front-row players. The con is that it costs 10 mana. But it can be used in specific games to a great advantage.

Queen Mycelia
image.png

This is the best card I have. This gives +2 armor and is so beneficial when playing with magic monsters from the Death Splinter. This one cards has helped me win so many games since I got it, I can't even count. If you are playing Level 1 like I am, then the only other card that allows one to add armor is TruthSpeaker with 1 life and 2 speed and no attacking capability. Queen Mycelia has 1 magic attack and 4 health and pairing it with Obsidian can really help one achieve a lot from this card. Costs just 4 mana!

Honorable Mentions

Irfit Rising
image.png

This is a good card for some high mana battles. Placed strategically, this can also wipe out the first character. The problem is it attacks once in 2 rounds and costs too much mana-wise for that.

Spirit Hoarder

Not a bad card either. Pros - Neutral card and helps heal the monsters at the back, so good to have for sneak and snipe attacks. Mana cost is also low. This needs to be augmented by Obsidian.

I was hoping for Hive to bounce before purchasing more card packs. However, that was not to be. I purchased the packs anyway. This time I hope Hive goes up in value before I do more purchases. After playing with these cards, I am sure that high-level battles must be insanely fun! Adding more capabilities to the monster can only make the game more enjoyable. Next step is just that.
