Weekly Battle with Chaos Knight

I am not a huge fan of Life Splinter. I haven't been able to devise good battle strategies with this Splinter so I only play Life when it is a daily quest or when I have to use Range attack monsters. I usually pair them with General Sloan. However, in low mana battles, I sometimes play Life. One of my favorite monsters from Life is Chaos Knight as it is a great tank!

For 6 Mana cost, one gets a strong tank in the form of Chaos Knight: It has 2 Melee attacks (so will be useful against other tanks with Shield), and has good speed (Level 1 card has two speed and this is the one I used for my weekly battle). 3 Armor provides a strong defense against range and melee attacks but this monster is low on health against Magic attacks. Nonetheless, in low mana battles, the opponents' team will not have too many magic attack monsters.

I already have a Level 2 and a Level 3 Gold Foil card but I could not use any of these cards as I did not own the summoner I chose for my battle.

Let me share my reason for the team now.

The game has the following rules:

1. Summoners do not give any stat buffs
2. Any Splinter can be chosen
3. Mana limit: 18

Since the summoners are not adding any value to my team, I had to choose a summoner that only costs 3 mana. Also since it is a low mana battle, I want to maximize the health of my team as well as the attack. I also want to get some healing ability in my team. Now, there is no way to enhance a magic attack, range attack, or melee attack. Ideally, I need to have a strong tank and then all Magic attack monsters. Not so much range attack because they cannot attack when in tank position. I also want to ensure that I get to do the most damage in the beginning, so either I need to have a team with good speed, or find a monster that has Slow ability. I knew I had to play with Life Splinter.

I decided to go with the following team -

Summoner: Mother Khala

1. Chaos Knight: Good Tank for Melee and Range attacks
2. Dax Paragon: Low mana and does magic attack. For 2 Mana, it comes with 3 Health
3. Spirit Hoarder: Heals monsters at the back of the line-up. Since the battle is low mana, most opportunity/sneak/snipe ability monsters will do at most 2 damage to health. Therefore, Spirit Hoarder would have been useful in my team
4. Time Mage: 4 Health, Magic Attack, and Slow ability
