Happy 1st birthday HIVE! With more to follow!

There is a good reason for a celebration today, and that is because HIVE is celebrating its first birthday. One year after the big old fork from Steem, HIVE has been taking steps towards independence and lets not call them baby steps shall we!

If you look to all the things that have happened over the year we have enough reason to celebrate!

Sure, all beginning of a chain is tough enough, and there was enough pro's and con's to be found on all sides. Initially when I looked at myself I wasn't to sure that all of this forking was good stuff, but that was mostly because I was not really into the matter of what was going on due to the covid break out and me spending most of my time in the hospital again at work. HIVE/ steem wasn't really a priority back then.

But when I saw all of the names shifting over to the new chain from people which I follow and who I met over the years in Krakow and Bangkok at Steemfest HIVEfest, it only felt more than natural to also hop over and take the blue pill.

Sure the community started small and some people stayed at Steem or left both of the places in general. That happens and is okay. But if you see now what has happened over the year on the HIVE chain that is really cool stuff.

Honestly it would be cool to make a nice sum up with all the stuff that has happened and drop a crap load of usernames to draw some attention, but I can tell you straight up that I don't know enough of what is going on behind the technical scenes to do so.

So I can tell you only from my perspective of what works for me and how I spent my year!

I did a lot of blockchaingaming on the HIVE chain which involved a lot of music in Rising Star, some Rabona football managing a lot of beerbrewing in Cryptobrewmaster and I was siked about Exodegame space launching but that hasn't really launched as yet, although I saw some movement and should see what phase they are in now. Did I forget Splinterlands now? Well they were already on Steem ofcourse, but I am happy they jumped over as well to HIVE and are now trying to bridge with other blockchains as well.

Am I successfull in this gaming? Nehhh not really, but I like the concept of it, and it was all perfect for during lockdown and also for the occasional side hussle here and there gaining some. All of this was on the HIVE chain and did not even involve blogging but did involve a lot of NFTs, which ofcourse joins the hype.

Another development ofcourse was yours truly Leofinance which I had not been too involved about, so I will leave the reading about the staking/farming/pooling about that to others who can explain this a lot better.

It is interesting to see how a chain made such a professional sidechain going on and could this also be the reason why the HIVE price is rising?

Because we all know it is not about the price, but it is nice when the price does follow the movement of all on chain applications and development. Rcently the price of HIVE seems very decent I find for a chain that has only been a year old and that is nice to see.

For me I have stayed on chain all year actually, I made nice gains in the bear market with just blog grinding and gaming away. I haven't been bored by HIVE at all and what initially drew me to the chain to keep me to stay, learning about crypto is one of the biggest drives to be here.

I am still learning...
