Heading on to cheap Nightmare packs

avatar

At the moment it feels like Splinterlands assets are on a bit of a discount. Not always nice to see, but on the other hand nice to see. It could be that the creeping on bear market is also starting to creep up on the enthousiasm of the developers of Splinterlands, but also on the players who might have lost interest for a bit since there are not a lot of new features planned for the future that feel like they are going to be a big deal changer.

Is this discount time the final signal that everything is going to sh&t or is this the moment we have all been waiting for like in every crypto cycle that you should collect your items and position yourself for when everything skyrockets again?

I like to believe the last one is the case.

The post that inspired me was from @mawit07 where he is writing about that some items are at a good discount on the secondary market at the moment, because the supply is still gigantic which is not really sweet. Time to take a closer looke what that could mean to me!

I have purchased a couple of Nightmare packs in the past because I always like to have something of the new items that are released in the Splinterlands game.

Looking at the current price when you want to buy an official nightmare pack this will cost you either 8000 DEC when you dont use any vouchers, and 5000 DEC when you do use vouchers. Vouchers are very cheap at the moment on the market costing you only 0.13 HIVE or just like $0.04 so it would be stupid not to get some from the market if you have didn't so.

So when a Nightmare pack would cost you only 5000 DEC with the current price this would cost you 13.2 Hive. But we all love DEC and we certaintly don't want to spend it all on packs from we don't know what it will be doing.

Other options

Looking at the secondary market you can either buy your packs at Peakmonsters for the discount price.

For around 2000 DEC which is about 5.3 Hive this is already a big discount as you can see.

But when looking on buying a single pack on hive-engine or leodex this gets even better.

Even less than 5 Hive for a nightmare pack! The splinterlands official price seems crazy compared to this.

The only thing? You wont receive any airdrops from the secondary market.

Riftwatchers

As you know by now the Riftwatchers packs and cards are my absolute favorite packs because of the high mana cards which are in there.

This nightmare situation also triggered me to take a look at that price on the market.

Original price on the website is 300 SPS and a voucher for a pack which is about 15 Hive on the market.

But when looking to buy a riftwatcher pack on the market it seems there is not really much a discount going on

Okay fair enough..2 hive discount per pack which is already something. Also looking at peakmonsters the price of a pack is 4668 DEC which is about 12 Hive.

A bummer because I would have loved to have more Riftwatchers packs as they seem of good value

As we still dont know what the nightmare tower defense packs will actually do in the near future it feels like a bit of a hunch to get me some.

But I think I will honestly... renting out the cards has continued to give at least something and also the returns in SPS because of the validator node license continue to flow in.

It feels like it is still a good time to get more assets for whenever the next phase of the game arrives.

Time to get me some packs!
