I got me some Splinterlands land.....just to be in the hype

And now what.....!!

The current talk of the town around Splinterlands is the releasing of land 1.5 for Maverick devs. Lots of words which when you are not a maverick and not a dev like myself, you all start to wonder what will actually happen the next period of time with the game and the tactics.

Rumours of that you need land, and you need DEC and you need some higher cards staked on the land. I need to do some digging on the matter of what this means.

Starting with principle number one. Getting some land!

What kind of land to choose?

Honestly...I haven't been enough in the matter to decide what the best plot of land is to have. What I do know is that when you think in the principle of common, rare, epic and legendary that it won't be the best idea to have a common plot of land. So I was looking for a rare plot and maybe with some extras in there.





I found this piece in Gorrondale for sale for still a reasonable price because iit also has an unstable totem in there, and a building in a box. Now only to find what the heck that actually is, but more is always better right?

On to the finances. I used all of my gaming rewards to buy this plot because income has be stagnating a lot lately. Rising Star rewards are very low at the moment, so this is all from SPS coming from my License node validator and the vouchers also coming from that. It was time to sell all of it and also steal some Hive from my blogging rewards which I usually do not use for gaming. But hey....it wasn't that much extra.





That is the cool thing about the gaming and the rewards coming from that. It gives you some room to invest into something as an experiment and it doesn't feel like you actually have put money in there. It is funds from rewards and rewards are for using if you ask me.

And now what!

People are writing about producten and grain turning it into SPS. I want that as well, because you don't want to own land while it isn't doing anything. But uhh....production?

I found out you need Dark Energy to start using the land. What I am not really sure about because there are some blogs around already is if this is already working, or if the posts are for the Maverick dev and I am looking around for something not yet existing.

What I mean is...I understand this isn't working for me as yet, but what is working at the moment then. In between phases are always difficult.





Okay so staked DEC is what we need. Or a power source according to the FAQ??

Power Sources are required to allow cards staked on land to participate in Resource Production. Power sources run on Dark Energy though they do not deplete the staked DEC that comprises Dark Energy. Currently, two Power Sources exist. Runi and Power Cores.

When you buy you land off of the secondary market and missed the claiming process, it is a bit of a challenge to filter what steps others have made already, and what steps are not possible as yet.

So we need a power core?

Power sources can be purchased by burning 5,000 DEC or DEC-B.

Or do I not because my land has a building-in-a-box already? As it says here:

The Building in a Box package will additionally include a free Power Source, which will be able to be used in phase 1.5.

I guess I might not need additional DEC and I can start going for the resources immediately once this starts? Or am I seeing this wrong? And what about the Unstable totem?

This package offers a temporary Totem that will double the production rate of any plot for a period of 30 days. These Unstable Totems will become active immediately when land phase 2 is released, and expire 30 days afterwards, so they cannot be saved and used later on. This package will not be able to be used in phase 1.5.

Okay so the totem is only a temporary thing but it will be nice to have once production starts.

But what about the staking of the cards?

You can find the chapter on what cards you can stake best for production points here, and I have a couple of gold foil legendarys that can have a nice spot there.

Prio 1: Getting this stuff to run. But since I have only purchased 513 packs from the shop (you can check this in the #sm-voters_hut channel on Discord) so that means I am not eligible and not able to enter the mavericks hut and start producing already. Bummer also because Riftwatcher and Orbs dont count but were my favorite packs!





So....land is there...I have it....But it is not for me as yet.!

I will make sure to have some more DEC ready for whatever I am missing and finding out which cards I want to stake for the production and hopefully the early birds haven't stolen all of the grain as yet for when it releases.
