CHALLENGE RULES

THEME: DISINTEGRATOR

Edition: CHAOS LEGION
Rarity: COMMON
Element: NEUTRAL
Attack: MELEE
Abilities: DEMORALIZE

RULESET:

The Desintigrator with it's demoralize ability fits very good in a melee team, so I decided to battle with the fire team.
The ruleset was standard, that means, that there are no special rules and I have nothing further to note.

LINEUP:

Summoner: TARSA

Most of the time when I play with fire I choose Tarsa as summoner. Fire is very strong with melee attacks, so the +1 melee from Tarsa makes them even stronger.

Tank: Antoid Platoon

As tank I took the Antoid Platoon. It has the SHIELD Ability, that means, that it reduced damage from Melee and Ranged attacks. Attack damage gets halved, except attack 1 which deals 0 damage.
So it is very clever to combine it with the DESINTIGRATOR. Why? I will tell you while describing why I chose the DESINTIGRATOR for my team in the following.

2. Position: Tenyii Striker

Tenyii Striker for me is obligatory in the fire team with Tarsa as summoner. With Tarsa he has 3 melee damage, what is really strong. And he is a sneak attacker, that means, that he targets the last monster of the enemy.

3. Position: DISINTEGRATOR

So, now we come to the main subject of this report. As I have just remarked, it is a good strategy to combine the DESINTIGRATOR with a monster that has the shield ability. The reason ist, that the demoralize ability of the DESINTEGRATOR reduces the melee attack of all enemy monsters. So if the opponents monster has 2 melee attack, the DESINTIGRATOR reduces it to 1. And if you have monsters with the shield ability, they will get 0 damage.

So let's have a look, if my strategy works...

ROUND 1:

As you can see the opponent has also chosen a fire team. But he has decided to take Pyre as summoner, with his +1 speed. As tank he has chosen the Living Lava, which is very strong and often a good choise. At this time, I wasn't sure, if I am able to beat the Living Lava with my team.
But in round 1 we see, that the Serpentine Spy and the Goblin Fireballer did 0 damage on my Antoid Platoon, becouse of the shield and of the combination with the Desintigrator. That's a big advantage for me. My Tenyii Striker killsthe Serpentine Spy in the 1. round.

ROUND 2:

In round 2 the Tenyii Striker kills the Goblin Fireballer of the opponent. My Antoid Platoon get's some damage, but still is alive.

ROUND 3:

In round 3 my Antoid Platoon is killed by the Living Lava.

ROUND 4:

In Round 4 the Living Lava kills my Tenyii Striker. I thought, that it didn't look very well for me, because I had only the Disintegrator left on the battlefield.

ROUND 5 AND 6:

With the +1 melee attack from Tarsa, the Disintegrator is able to kill the Living Lava in the 5. round and the tide turns.
The enemy has only the fire elemental left on the battlefield. And because it is a ranged attacker, it can't perform from the first position.
This is how the fight is decided for me!

CONCLUSION:

In this battle we can see, how good the combination of the shield and the demoralize abilitie works in a battle, that is embossed of melee attacks. And it was an advantage for me, that the opponent chose the Pyre as summoner, so he didn't hat the +1 melee to get trough my Antoid Platoon.
At the beginning I wasn't sure, if I will win, because the Living Lava is really strong in melee battles. But my strategy worked very well :)
