Today’s post is something special — a cross-world showcase that blends one of my most powerful manga OCs with one of Splinterlands’ most iconic sorceresses: Mimosa Nightshade. What started as a simple comparison evolved into a full creative fusion, resulting in a completely new character concept: The Nightshade Wanderer.

This post will highlight the two original characters, what defines them individually, and how their traits merge into a single, hauntingly beautiful new entity.

🔥 My Manga OC — The Devourer of Worlds (WIP Name)

The first character is an original creation from my ongoing manga project. She is a being woven from cosmic madness, eldritch sigils, and forbidden divinity. Her design combines the aesthetics of yokai priestesses, neon-glowing cyber-occult marks, and demonic celestial energy.

Defining traits of my OC:

Cosmic Hunger: She consumes planets, souls, and even timelines — not out of cruelty, but from a tragic nature she cannot fully control.

Living Magic: Her body is layered with constantly shifting runes, glowing symbols, and eldritch patterns that pulse like a living language.

Duality: She is both a threat and a savior. A catalyst capable of ending existence or transforming it into something new.

Psychological Depth: Behind her godlike power lies a fractured heart—loneliness, fate, and a yearning for connection.

She represents the chaotic and emotional force in the fusion.

🌑 Splendidlands Spotlight — Mimosa Nightshade

Mimosa Nightshade is a striking character known for her calm, deadly elegance. Where my OC is chaotic, Mimosa is controlled and strategic. Her presence feels like a quiet storm: subtle, precise, and unrelentingly powerful.

What defines Mimosa Nightshade:

Nature Sorcery: She wields life energy with mastery, bending it into healing magic, decay spells, and essence manipulation.

Elegant Authority: Her expression carries silent confidence — the type of leader who doesn't need to raise her voice.

Arcane Runes: Her armor and accessories glow with controlled magical inscriptions, showing discipline and ancient knowledge.

Combat Philosophy: She doesn’t overwhelm — she dismantles, weakens, and controls her opponents with perfect efficiency.

Mimosa brings the refined, mystical discipline to the fusion.

🍃🌙 Introducing the Hybrid: The Nightshade Wanderer

The Nightshade Wanderer is the perfect midpoint between chaos and discipline — a warrior-mage whose presence feels both ethereal and unsettling.

✨ Visual & Physical Traits

She floats rather than walks, wrapped in shifting emerald currents.

Her bow is grown from living vines, each arrow blooming with glowing petals.

Her silhouette is grounded and battle-ready like my OC, but her aura is mystical and calm like Mimosa’s.

Runes swirl across her armor, reacting to her emotions and the life energy around her.

🌿 Personality

She speaks little, but when she does, her words carry emotional weight — able to influence enemies or embolden allies. She is observant, dangerous in silence, and guided by both logic and intuition.

🌙 Signature Ability — “Verdant Eclipse”

A merging of both original skill sets:

She summons a crescent of moonlit vines that drain vitality from foes while healing allies. What makes this ability special is its evolution:
the more damage the battlefield suffers, the stronger she becomes.

She is both healer and executioner, savior and storm.

Art Process — From Concept to Final Illustration

Creating this artwork was a multi-stage process that blended traditional drawing techniques with digital refinement. Here is a breakdown of each step:

1. Sketching — Building the Foundation (2B Pencil)

I began with a loose pose and proportion sketch using a 2B pencil.
At this stage, the focus is on:

Establishing the character’s silhouette
Positioning the limbs and major forms Mapping out facial structure and expression
Checking body balance and flow
The lines remained light and flexible to allow quick corrections until the overall composition felt solid

1. Line Art — Inking With Black Ball Pen

Once the sketch was set, I moved on to inking with a black ball pen.
Here, I cleaned up the construction lines and created a sharper, more confident outline.

This stage included:
Defining final contours Adding details such as hair strands, folds, and accessories Adjusting line thickness for depth and emphasis Cleaning up overlaps and unnecessary marks
This is where the character truly begins to take shape.

1. Coloring — Skin First, Then Garments

With the ink dry, I began applying colors.
I always start with the skin, as it helps establish the warmth and tone balance early.

Skin Coloring:

Light base layer Gradual shading for cheekbones, neck, joints, and expression Highlights to give a soft, lively finish

Clothing & Attire:
After the skin was complete, I moved on to the outfit and accessories.
This step focused on:

Establishing a color palette that matches the character’s theme Layering shadows to show depth Highlighting metallic or glowing elements Enhancing runes, symbols, and effects Every color choice was made to emphasize personality and powers

1. Digital Editing & Final Touches

Finally, the scanned artwork was imported into a digital editor for polishing.
This stage included:

Enhancing contrast

Correcting color balance

Cleaning dust or paper textures

Adding lighting effects or glow where needed

The digital edits tied everything together, giving the artwork a crisp, vibrant final presentation.
