THELORE.gif

Tenyii Striker.png
             A dozen generations sandwiched between the hammer of the Khans' cruelty and the anvil of the icy foothills of Kurguzd forged the Tenyii into reclusive deadly foes. Brought to the training creche from birth, taught to steal for food, beaten when caught, and trained daily with the sword and spear as soon as they were strong enough for their hands to lift steel, the Tenyii clan were hard as iron and as fierce and silent as midnight on the mountain glacier.
             When the Legion's heralds demanded a sacrifice of flesh and gold to open the rifts to the ways beyond, the Khan sent five hundred waadin berserkers to bring the tribe to heel. When a single horse returned bearing a sack of fifty skulls, the Khan threatened to burn the entire mountain to the ground. A dozen Tenyii Strikers were sent as tribute to spare the tribes and to satisfy the herald's call.

TENYII STRIKER STATS PER LEVEL

Sneak 90px.png
Sneak
Allows monster to target the opponent's last position monster unless Taunt ability is in-play. Can't target backline monsters with Camouflage ability.

Dodge 90px.png
Dodge
An ability that increases the chance of evading Melee or Ranged attacks by 25%.

Backfire 90px.png
Backfire
If an enemy attack misses the monster that has this ability, the attacker takes 2 damage (Amplify ability doesn't increase this damage). Works against magic attack too if Phase ability is in play.

             Tenyii Striker is a 5-mana Rare Tier Card that was added to the Fire deck after the release of Chaos Legion Edition. This card synergizes well with Tarsa, the new fire summoner that gives +1 Melee Attack & +1 HP. At level 1 this card has decent stats of 2 melee attack, 2 Speed, and 6 HP which is good enough to compete in the Bronze league. As you move up to the Silver League, you would want to use this card at level 4 as it unlocks the Dodge Ability giving him 25% evasion against Melee & Range attacks. Level 7 unlocks the Backfire ability. At the maxed level, it gets 5 Melee damage, 4 Speed & 7 HP. Pretty insane stats for a Rare Tier Card, don't you think? Now, let's watch some battles.

Battles Break Down

BATTLE #001

Rulesets In-play

Armored Up 90px.png
Armored Up
All Monsters have 2 Armor in addition to their normal Armor stat.

RULESET TIPS

  • Use magic attacks, but the opponent might do the same, so focus on HP. this ruleset buff is countered by the ability Rust or Wizard of Eastwood's summoner ability.
  • The ability Shatter is also good against this ruleset. Target's armor is destroyed when hit by an attack from monsters with Shatter.

Lost Magic 90px.png
Lost Magic
Monsters with Magic attacks may not be used in battles.

RULESET TIPS

  • Abilities that counter Magic attacks are useless in this ruleset.

  • Focus on high speed and monsters with abilities like Flying, Dodge, Blind, Thorns, Backfire, Retaliate, and Shield.

  • Use attack debuff abilities if possible;
    • Demoralize - Reduces the Melee attack of all enemy Monsters by 1
    • Headwinds - Reduces the Ranged attack of all enemy Monsters by 1

             If you haven't notice yet, Tenyii Striker has good speed. Adding the Dodge ability to his kit made him even more elusive. In this battle, while it's just a single dodge and not a pivotal one. This indicates that Tenyii Striker is a good alternative backline tank too.

BATTLE #002

Rulesets In-play

Aim True 90px.png
Aim True
Melee and Ranged attacks always hit their target regardless of speed differential and evade calculations.

RULESET TIPS

  • Abilities that increase evasion chances such as Blind, Flying, & Dodge as well as speed differential evade chances are negated in this ruleset.
  • Choose high-speed and high-health monsters which have high damage output combined.
  • Abilities below work great in this ruleset as counters;
    • Return Fire - When hit with a Ranged attack, monsters with this ability will inflict half of the damage (rounded up) back to the attacker.
    • Thorns - When hit with a Melee attack, deal 2 melee damage back to the attacker.
    • Retaliate - When hit with a Melee attack, monsters with this ability have a 50% chance of attacking back their attacker, with the possibility of a chain sequence with attack-type abilities.
  • Use attack debuff abilities if possible;
    • Demoralize - Reduces the Melee attack of all enemy Monsters by 1
    • Headwinds - Reduces the Ranged attack of all enemy Monsters by 1

             One of the best time to use abilities such as Sneak, Snipe and Opportunity is when Aim True Ruleset is in play. This ruleset enabled Tenyii Striker to kill my opponent's backline monster without worrying about missing attacks. The damage from Chaos Dragon in this match is also note-worthy.

BATTLE #003

Rulesets In-play

Super Sneak 90px.png
Super Sneak
All Melee attack Monsters have the Sneak ability. Enabling them to target the last Monster on the enemy team instead of the first Monster. Unless the Taunt ability is in-play.

RULESET TIPS

  • Choose a summoner that increases or reduces Melee's attack.
  • Keep a tank with high HP & Armor or a highly evasive monster in the last position. Also, if possible monsters with the abilities written below;
    • Shield - Reduced damage taken from Melee and Ranged attacks in half (rounded up). This ability also reduces Thorn's damage by 1 and cancels out the damage from the Redemption ability.
    • Thorns - When hit with a Melee attack, deal 2 melee damage back to the attacker.
    • Retaliate - When hit with a Melee attack, monsters with this ability have a 50% chance of attacking back their attacker, with the possibility of a chain sequence with attack-type abilities.
    • Heal - Restores 1/3 of the Monster's HP (rounded down) each round if the monster with this ability is not stunned or debuffed by the Affliction ability.
  • You may also use the Taunt ability in a position you desire to distract your opponent's sneak monsters from attacking the last position.
  • You may also use the ability Triage as you see fit because the ability heals 1/3 of the friendly back-line monster's HP that has taken the most damage. Which in this ruleset might be your last position monster or Taunt monster that is in 2nd to the last position.
  • Take advantage of monsters with 2 attack types, (Melee + Range or Magic) like War Chaang , The Vigilator , Oaken Behemoth , & Kralus if possible.
  • You may also consider using monsters with the Double Strike ability.

Odd Ones Out 90px.png
Odd Ones Out
Only Monsters with an odd number Mana costs may be used in battle.

RULESET TIPS

  • There are no special tricks for this ruleset. But having an idea of the mana points of a few monsters helps in predicting what your opponent can and cannot use.
  • Use attack debuff abilities as you see fit to reduce your opponent's damage output;
    • Demoralize - Reduces the Melee attack of all enemy Monsters by 1 (Multiple Demoralize on your side of the field stack.)
    • Headwinds - Reduces the Ranged attack of all enemy Monsters by 1 (Multiple Headwinds on your side of the field stack.)
    • Silence - Reduces the Magic Attack of all enemy Monsters by 1 (Multiple Silence on your side of the field stack.)
  • Smartly play around with the available buff & debuff abilities. Sometimes a Lil difference in stats on this ruleset can be the game changer.

             As I told you earlier Tenyii Striker synergizes very well with Tarsa. Tarsa buffs Tenyii Striker with +1 melee attack & +1 HP, helping him deal more damage and tank a bit longer. Tenyii Striker is also one of the top useful cards in the Odd Ones Out ruleset.

BATTLE #004

Rulesets In-play

Explosive Weaponry 90px.png
Explosive Weaponry
All monsters get the Blast ability. The ability does additional adaptive damage equivalent to main damage divided by 2 (rounded up) to cards adjacent to the target.

RULESET TIPS

  • Use fast monsters and if possible, those with the following abilities; Snipe, Sneak, Opportunity & Scattershot. Those abilities allow you to target the backline monsters and wreak havoc by spreading your damage.
  • Generally, Magic & Range attacks work well here.
  • As a counter-measure, placing monsters with Reflection Shield ability to the Taunt monster's adjacent positions can most of the time fully counter the Blast ability damage. But make sure to have enough healing abilities to sustain your tank.

P. S.
To learn more about this Ruleset, you can read my old blog here. It's a deep dive on the Explosive Weaponry ruleset and the ability Blast.

    DISCLAIMER: The Reflection Shield ability is not yet implemented in the game when the linked blog was published. But all the information in it are still applicable at present. Ruleset Tip #3 here is a super effective addition to all the strategies discussed in the article.

             Following the ruleset tips above, Tenyii Striker no doubt aced this match. My opponent opted to protect his front line living the rear vulnerable. 4 damage to the target & 2 damage to its adjacent monsters I guess was too much to handle for his team, not even triage can sustain the damage they received from Tenyii Striker's sneak attacks.

CONCLUSION

             To be honest, the battles I shared are not enough to showcase the full potential of Tenyii Striker. Just to give you an idea of how powerful this card can be, when maxed Tenyii Striker will have; 5 Melee attack, 4 Speed, 7 HP, Sneak, Dodge & Backfire. Using Tarsa (+1 Melee & +1 HP) or Malric Inferno (+1 Melee) as a summoner, he now deals 6 Melee-attack when no melee attack debuff is in play. Adding in the possibility of Backfire ability proc (2 damage), our boy Tenyii Striker here could potentially inflict up to 8 overall damage output. Not to mention his melee attack can still be further increased with the help of the Inspire ability "cough.. Fire Deck has 3 monsters with Inspire ability cough... cough..". It's insane!!!

             Furthermore, the upcoming new legendary summoner Conquerer Jacek if nothing changes, provides 3 buffs. The +2 Speed and the Piercing ability (If Melee or Ranged attack damage is in excess of the target's Armor, the remainder will damage the target's Health) benefits Tenyii Striker. Not only would he become even faster but also then will be able to pierce thru the target's armor making those 6+++ Melee attacks doesn't go to waste. Although the Forcefield ability (Monster with this ability takes only 1 damage from attacks with 5+ power output) is a bummer if place in the last position against you, which doesn't happen a lot.

             To sum it up, Tenyii Striker is a good buy. For a 5-mana rare card, he provides a strong offensive punch and can be a decent tank too. Try using him in battles to see for yourself.
