New Land Cards? Man and his best friend
Introducing Jacko and his best pal, Twigglet.

This dynamic, hardworking pair is great to have helping on your land, no matter where you are!
This post explores my idea for 2 new land cards. These are just ideas, and I'd love all your comments, feedback, and thoughts! Let's make these awesome.
DISCLAIMER: These aren't the new cards crafted from land resources for ranked play. I see these coming out after that batch has finished.
No more messing around, here are the proposed stats!
| Name | Twigglet | Jacko |
|---|---|---|
| Rarity | Common | Epic |
| PP | 5000 | 6250 |
| Element | Neutral | Neutral |
| Effect | Energise | Dark Discount 50% |
| Effect | 10% boost | 10% boost |
| Man's Best Friend | Friend 20% Rationing | Man 15% boost |
| Estimated Costs | $75 | $150 |
These guys are neutral, so happy wherever they are or whatever you feed them! Attractive to all land players!
Hopefully you know the existing land card effects.
Man's Best Friend is similar to kindred will/spirit. These guys are at their best when they are working together!

Crafting
These guys require 3 elements to craft. Cinder, Natural Resources/Aura and USDC/DEC. These different elements will be required in equal parts.
Cinder
In terms of pricing for the first set of land cards, 1500 cinder was valued at $1. Using the same pricing, Twigglet would require 37,500 Cinder and Jacko would require 75,000 cinder.
If Chaos Legion Commons were used for this cinder, Twigglet would require 12 max commons, and Jacko would require 24 max commons. That is reducing the PP out in the wild significantly.
Land Resources
I want these to be accessible to all players, so I was thinking both cards could be crafted with natural resources or aura. It makes sense to me to lock these values in closer to launch to reflect the resources market price at the time. Or maybe they could be dynamic based on current prices.
Using pricing as I'm writing this 1/4 of $25 is about 10k dec. That gets you 600k Grain or 300k Wood or 100k Stone or 24k Iron.
Figuring out what it would be in Aura is a bit more complicated. Some people produce Aura a lot more efficiently than others. So I used @beaker007 great land planning tool I have made 2 examples using the same Chaos Legion Max Common Workers.
A: Common Magical plot with no boosts at all

B: Legendary Magical plot with 100% totem, 50% tile and a runi.

These basically create a minimum and a maximum. They consume natural resources at the same rate but have a very different Aura outputs of 5.5 Aura per hour for the common and 19.25 Aura per hour for the Legendary. The middle ground of that is 12.375 per hour.
The plots consume 65 grain per hour. And consumes all natural resources at an equal rate (based on their production rate). So 600k grain would take about 9230 hours to consume all of it. Over that time, it would produce about 115k Aura using the middle rate.
Currency
The plan is to split these funds 50/50 between the Company and the DAO. One day @azircon mentioned we need to find a way to get stables into the DAO and Company and I think this is a good way to do so.
Originally, it was going to be just USDC, but people were already asking about DEC. I think it is fine to accept DEC, but I see it as being worth USD of DEC. Twigglet costs $25 USDC or $25 USD worth of DEC.
Total Crafting Requirements
This is just an estimate:
| Name | Twigglet | Jacko |
|---|---|---|
| Target Price | $75 USD | $150 USD |
| Cinder | 37,500 | 75,000 |
| Natural Resources | ||
| Grain | 600k | 1,200k |
| Wood | 300k | 600k |
| Stone | 100k | 200k |
| Iron | 24k | 48k |
| Or Aura | ||
| Aura | 115k | 230k |
| USDC or USD worth of DEC | $25 | $50 |
Distribution
- Max copies only
- These cards would be craftable for 1 year
- There is no limit to how many can be craftable
- There will be a foil draw at the end of the craftable window
Max Copies only
This keeps it simple!
1 year Crafting window
This gives people ample time to craft as many of these guys as they want!
Unlimited Print run
Why not? These guys reduce overall PP when they are crafted. It also gives us a lot of room to get USDC or DEC into the Company and DAO wallets. It helps us use up some of those extra natural resources we are creating because of the first set of land cards.
Let's see how many cards and resources we can burn!
Foil Draw
These guys are something for everybody to get excited about towards the end of the sale.
As these guys work land the earn points towards the foil draw at the end of the craftable window.
They produce points equal to their PP per hour. I was thinking of giving them an extra 25%-50% points if they are working together. Just another reason to have the 2 best friends on the same plot together.
At the start of the sale there will be 1 of each foil for each card in the pool.
As we craft more, more foils get added to the pool.
| Foil | RF per extra foil | % |
|---|---|---|
| Gold Foil | 20 | 5% |
| Gold Foil Arcane | 50 | 2% |
| Black Foil | 100 | 1% |
| Black Foil Arcane | 200 | 0.5% |
Since the pool starts with 1 of each, there will be slightly over the % above, but I figured we need at least 1 of each to start with.
This is an easy way to manage foil print run dynamically.
PP for the Foils
| Name | Twigglet | Jacko |
|---|---|---|
| Regular Foil | 5000 | 6250 |
| Gold Foil | 10000 | 12500 |
| Gold Foil Arcane | 10000 | 12500 |
| Black Foil | 25000 | 31250 |
| Black Foil Arcane | 25000 | 31250 |
Paying for the work?
Does the DAO need to pay the team for this or is the 50/50 split enough? I'm hoping it's a light enough lift that it isn't much dev resources and things can be tweaked to help reduce it as well
Plan going forward
- I plan to gather as much feedback as possible! From the players, team, land fan boys, land haters.
- Start collecting DEC for the proposal in @thepeoplesguild account
- Make adjustments based on feedback
- If there are decent changes, put out another post with the changes
- Run the proposal and hope it passes with flying colours
This follows the flow that I was exploring for the DAO and it's proposals
So what do you think?
Would you have this dynamic due working on your land?

Does land really need more general boosts? There are millions more resources produced than consumed each and every day. The only thing which keeps land resources prices up is that people are hoarding for the next big thing to craft. If this next big thing is even more boosts the problem just gets bigger and bigger.
I would rather see land cards as a specialist role when buildings come around, since the other boosts are not available there. Like lets say you want to make "fancy resource X". First you need the building, sure, and normal cards can do that, but it would make sense that the normal rate is rather bad. Sort of, you can do it, but not very proficient. If you put a "fancy resource X specialist card" on your plot it boost production in this specific building significantly.
Now you could argue, that you already pay for the building, why need cards to do it efficiently. Well, cards can be rented, so in a way, you create an ingame job market where you can send your cards. You could argue that happens now but it is very general since only PP matters. This would even be a reasonable way how to include research into landcard crafting, since your specialist cards need to study how to do stuff (would make more sense than a permit to build x buildings lore wise).
Thanks for sharing the feedback.
More boosts is an interesting one. I think we should make more boosts so newer land players can get them. But I don't want to see massive ones like the initial land card release. That's why these are much more chill in terms of boosts but with a slightly higher PP.
It's also a good incentive to part people from their USDC. It could be done another way but I haven't seen a good one.
Though feedback from @jeffopenscards has got me thinking that the boosts should only apply to natural resources and I think your mention of building is good so will include buildings as well.
These guys are meant to be great generalists. Not specialists, so they don't give any boost for Aura, Research and Sps.

Really interesting concept, especially the resource burn and the stable injection into DAO/company. That part makes a lot of sense long term.
My only concern would be adding another general production boost when land is already producing more resources than it consumes. Maybe tying these cards to future buildings or more specialized roles instead of global boosts could create stronger long-term balance and a real in-game job market for land cards.
Overall I like the burn mechanics and foil draw idea — just think the specialization angle could make it even stronger.
Looking forward to seeing how this evolves.
Thanks for your feedback. yeah I think I will move forward with fewer general boosts. I cover it a bit more replying to @cardeegel above.
Land resource skins are coming. That's what's in our future. I can almost see people screaming for more resource production in the future to try keep up so these could help with that.
Hopefully we would burn off a lot of resources especially with the presure from buildings as well
Love the idea, some interesting concepts. Like the rarest foil print based on minting of the regular foils. Nice thought experiment might be some ideas that could be implemented at some point.
Thanks for taking the time to reply.
This is more than just a thought experiment. If this gets good feedback, which I have been getting, then I plan to do another post with refinements and then hopefully put it through for a proposal
I really like the general idea, not sure if the numbers work out. But fun idea, of course we should have a dog, and why not a man too... lol.
I want my dog nameable (Dogmeat ftw). Can the man be a squatter?
What happens to the man and dog is the plot is occupied? Just saying those creatures occupying land are a bit creepy and can lead for some fun story.
Unlimited Print Run
Anyways, I think packs of cards should not be burned, I think they should have unlimited print run for a set time. Similar to your idea for this.
I always wondered though if the secondary market would interfere with sales. maybe not if no discounts or bonuses? Maybe new items should remain untradeable until sale window over (people probably hate that idea).
Next
I want a Wild-Eye Scientist and a Flying Car. :)
yeah why can't you name your dogs. Hahaha, the man is less a squatter and a traveling helper. But he probably does live in a tent somewhere when he's helping out.
Aftering some feedback, they won't be that helpful if plots are occupied, or working with magical elements. These guys are general helpers. So they won't give any production boosts farming Aura, Research or SPS. So just natural resources.
But I think it would be cool if their boost applied in buildings as well!
