SHARE YOUR BATTLE Weekly Challenge! VENARI SPELLSMITH

For this week challenge we will be looking at Venari Spellsmith. At it base level there is not much to get excited about with this card. However, once you reach level four it becomes much more interesting by adding amplify to the equation. (Amplify- Increases Magic Reflect, Return Fire, and Thorns damage to all enemy monsters by 1) This being on a neutral card make it a very versatile card to have in ones deck. I personally got one level four copy when card prices were down.

Anyway, let's look at a battle I recently used it in.
Ruleset- Equalizer and Armor Up
My setup and important abilities-
General Sloan lv 4 (+1 Range)
Blinding Reflector lv 5 (Magic reflect)
Pelacor Conjuror lv 5 (Magic reflect)
Venari Spellsmith lv 4 (Amplify)
Peacebringer lv 4
Venari Cyrstalsmith lv 4 (Tank heal)
Air Elemental lv 2

When setting up my team I was thinking that the opposing team was going to bring a ton of magic attackers. I was wrong, and their team looked like a good counter to my setup intially.(The Peakrider summoner having +3 shield and -1 ranged damage) But little did they know I had a secret weapon is Venari Spellsmith. Magic reflect combined with Amplify can very useful in many battles.

As the battle played out I scored a crucial early kill of their time mage and was able to boost my speed back up. This would not have happened near as quickly if I had not had Venari Spellsmith's Amplify ability. Air Elemental also protected my back line long enough for my range fighter to take over. So despite guessing completely wrong initially, I was still able taste victory.

Overall impression on Venari Spellsmith-
I believe this to be an underrated card. I think as the game evolves Amplify will become more and more important to counter certain meta teams. Having a neutral card the can be inserted into any line up will allow stacking as well. Combining with Dax Paragon and Grandmaster Rathe seem like very intriguing options. I will continue to develop new strategies moving forward as well.
