Lol, yes, it is and it is stated as much by aggroed. This game is an investment. Nothing wrong with that, but in this stage of the game, it is nothing for newbs or the poor as sad as it is.

Indeed this game is an investment. And i also agree with that; the current state of the game is not for newbs who don't want to invest a lot. But it could be different if the bot usage would be handled differently. I also state its not impossible to grind up, but its not a fast procedure either.

Yes, grinding up without or with a miniscule amount of investment is pretty hard right now. I don't think, the bot issue will be handled differently in the near future. Devs have an indifferent approach to bots and we have to accept that. For me personally, that was a tough pill to swallow, but I adapted and put a lot of money into the game (by my standards) and try earn a few DEC through playing and renting while actually enjoying the game. This is possible with my deck now (Approximately 1,4k$ investment after trying to grind my way up from the start).

Well, Free 2 Play is a misnomer, because the 10 bucks for the spellbooks are obligatory. And today, you have to invest, to get a miniscule amount of fun and/or DEC out of it. Let's be honest about it.

You actually can play for free, just not ranked battles.

If you create an account with email/Hive, you get access to the ~100 starter set cards.

But yes, that is what I laid out in my video.

I think its play to earn, not pay to win, because even the best cards can have losses, the constant changing of rulesets and which splinters are allowed allows skill to triumph money on occasion, that cannot be said of most games. Since the changes to disadvantage bots its a lot harder to grind up with just the spellbook, probably impossible. That being said, the more you invest, the more you earn no doubt in this game, when I was in Silver 3 last month i was happy earning 3 DEC a win, now in Gold 3 I earn between 20-50 DEC a win depending on which day of season. Thats a higher return for my play time, theres no way around it. But thats the way it should be. If people want to grow organically they can do it now if they buy the spellbook and $5-$10 dollars worth of DEC and use that to test rentals and rent key cards you can grind it out just need 1 nice person to lend u some power, and hey affiliate program and scholarship programs are all about that. These costs are pennies compared to Axie Infinity which was over $600 per axie when I looked a while back no idea now, so 1800 to start.
