KETOVORE's first "SPLINTERTALK" crypto blog (moved from Dude-Bro account to match SL-handle)

A crypto-tripper in a tavern at the edge of the known universe was blabbering in my ear about "the future" and cheap land plots in some crypto-verse called Splinterlands. He said it was the first known NFT-verse in the crypto sphere... but he may have had too much tree blood to drink.

Always on the hunt for adventure and opportunity, I hopped in my Wax-mobile and shuttled down to the market place for a looksie. Sure enough, speculators from all over the blockchain were gobbling up Splinterlands land like hungry little piranhas. Textbook NFT junky behavior.

I'd just been to some place called Axie Infinity and saw what happened there so I wondered if maybe I should gaffle some land up for myself. But first, I decided to have a look around this Splinterlands place to see if that drunken crypto-tripper wasn't just blowing smoke.

That was three days ago.

I've been in 153 battles since then. I even won a few of them.

For awhile I forgot that I initially arrived at Splinterlands intent on HODL'ing some cheap land, a drifter just looking to scrounge up some extra coin. I got lost in the Splinters. I lost sleep and forgot to eat while figuring out what level Summoner I might need to rent in order to survive in Silver league. Not to mention all of the interesting ancillary markets and chats and channels associated with Splinterlands.

Considering I've never been much for gaming, I must say it has been a heck of a lot of fun. I even got my first few airdrops of SPS.

Now, about those plots of land...
