Crispy and Spicy Pea Kachori Recipe

Hello, friends. I hope you all enjoyed it. Nowadays, the weather is such that spicy and tangy food seems more appealing. My entire family loves such flavorful recipes, and today I'm sharing one with you the recipe for Matar Ki Kachori.

Ingredients:

  1. 2 cups whole wheat flour
  2. 300 grams green peas
  3. Chopped fresh coriander leaves
  4. 2 tablespoons oil
  5. Salt to taste
  6. 1/2-inch piece of ginger (finely chopped)
  7. 2 green chilies (finely chopped)
  8. 1/4 teaspoon cumin seeds
  9. A pinch of asafoetida (hing)
  10. 1/4 teaspoon red chili powder
  11. Oil for frying

Instructions:

  1. In a bowl, mix half a teaspoon of salt and 2 tablespoons of oil into the wheat flour. Knead it into a soft dough using half a cup of water. Let it rest for 15 to 20 minutes.

  1. In a pan, heat 1 tablespoon of oil, add asafoetida and cumin seeds. Once the cumin seeds turn brown, add chopped green chilies, ginger, and peas. Cook for 2 minutes, then cover and simmer until the peas are soft. Add salt.

  1. Remove from heat, let it cool, and then grind the mixture coarsely. You can use a mixer for this step.

  1. Add garam masala, red chili powder, and chopped coriander to the mixture. Mix well; the stuffing for the kachoris is ready.
  1. Heat oil in a pan for frying the kachoris.

  1. Take a small portion of the dough, flatten it, and place a spoonful of the pea mixture in the center. Seal the edges and form a ball. Flatten it slightly using your fingers.

  1. Carefully slide the prepared kachori into the hot oil and fry on low to medium heat until it turns golden brown.
  1. Remove the fried kachoris and place them on a plate lined with tissue paper to absorb excess oil.

These hot and crispy Matar Ki Kachoris are ready to be served! You can enjoy them with potato-tomato curry, tomato chutney, or any side dish of your choice.
