Punjabi chhole recipe.

Hello, namaste! Once again, I've brought you a flavorful and nutritious meal - Punjabi chhole ki sabji. This recipe, made with kabuli chana, is sure to tantalize your taste buds. Notably, it doesn't include any garlic or onions. If you're seeking a new recipe, Punjabi chhole is an excellent choice. You can whip it up in just 15 minutes. Let's dive into the recipe:

🍀🍀Ingredients☘️☘️

  1. 200 grams of chickpeas
  2. Large tin of tomatoes
  3. 1 piece of ginger
  4. 5 green chilies (adjust to your spice preference)
  5. Some whole spices
  6. 1/2 teaspoon of red chili powder
  7. 1/2 teaspoon of turmeric powder
  8. 1/2 teaspoon of garam masala
  9. Salt to taste
  10. Oil

Firstly, I would like to tell you that I learned this recipe from my mother. She used to make it when we craved chhole during the summers because it's light and easy to digest.

Now, let's learn how to make it. Firstly, soak the chickpeas for about 4 hours. If you forget to soak them, you can also find pre-soaked chickpeas in the market nowadays.

🌼1 step

After 4 hours, the chickpeas will have swollen up. Now, transfer them to a pressure cooker along with some whole spices and a pinch of salt. Salt helps in softening the chickpeas.

🌼 2 Step
Now, place it on the gas and wait for 4 to 5 whistles.

🌼3 Step
Meanwhile, prepare the rest of the ingredients such as cutting ginger, crushing garlic, chopping tomatoes, and slicing green chilies.

🌼4 step

When the cooker starts whistling, turn off the gas. Take a pan, heat some oil, and add all the prepared ingredients.

🌼5 step

Now, saute them until the spices are cooked, and the tomatoes are soft and mushy. Once the tomatoes are cooked, add turmeric powder, red chili powder, salt to taste, and garam masala. Mix well and cook until the tomatoes are well cooked and the spices are fragrant.

🌼6 Step

Now, add the boiled chickpeas to the spices and a little water. Let it simmer for 3 to 4 minutes.

Now, your tangy Punjabi chhole recipe is ready. Serve it with bhature, rice, or any other dish of your choice.

I enjoy cooking rather than solely focusing on my business. My husband and son are food enthusiasts, so I experiment with various recipes. I hope you like this recipe. If you have any questions, feel free to ask in the comments.

thanks for the support me 🙏
