The dry vegetable dish shem potatoes, and peas recipe.

Hello, Namaste.
How are you all? I hope you're all doing well; I'm also fine. Once again, I have brought a delicious and spicy recipe for you, which you can enjoy with roti, rice, or naan. So, let's learn how to make it.

To make this, I need the following ingredients:

  1. Shem - 100 grams
  2. Potatoes - 2
  3. Peas - 100 grams
  4. Cauliflower - 4 or 5 pieces
  5. Onions - 2, some garlic cloves, ginger, green chilies
  6. Turmeric powder, chili powder, garam masala, coriander powder, salt as per taste
  7. Tomatoes (if tomatoes are not available, you can also use tamarind paste)

Firstly, we need to chop the vegetables like this.

Then take a pan, add oil to it, then add the chopped cauliflower and sauté it like this.

Now, take it out, as I am sauteing it separately first because when it is sauteed with other vegetables, it tends to break apart, and I prefer to keep the cauliflower intact.

Again, add oil to the pan and then add fenugreek seeds for tempering. Once the fenugreek seeds start to crackle, add onions and sauté them, then add chopped garlic and ginger.

Now, add the beans, potatoes, peas, carrots, and saute them for 1 minute.

Now that they are sautéed, add the spices - turmeric, chili powder, coriander powder, garam masala, salt, and also add tomatoes. Cover and cook for 5 minutes.

Now, uncover the lid. If the tomatoes are cooked and the potatoes are tender, everything is done. Turn off the heat.

Garnish with cilantro leaves and enjoy its taste with roti, naan, or rice.
