I've been watching a lot of Splinterlands-based content on YouTube these past few days because of my growing interest in the game. And I got to say that it seemed like a lot of fun. Should I play the game?

I like both but I read from several articles that to play I need to buy the Spellbook for $10. Moreover, to be competitive I needed to invest more money. The $10 is not a problem since I can afford it but being a student I couldn't afford to buy good cards.

You don't need to buy good cards to get started. In fact, you can rent cards and earn the DEC needed to start buying them. Check out @mozzie5 and his current challenge here. It will give you an idea of what you can accomplish without buying anything.

You earn DEC and get free cards in the quest rewards as well as the season rewards at the end. It will take awhile but you can play, earn money, and build a deck without spending anything but time. Good luck!

I tried 3Speak once but didn't have a good experience with it. For one the videos take to long to play. Sometimes it won't even play at all. As for DTube, I haven't tried it yet. I'll give it a try next time.

Hive or not, if a dApp doesn't get the job done 4 U, then it's OK 2not use it any longer. I've been hearing of an upcoming platofrm called SPK Network which is supposed 2take video & audio use 2 another level. Until something better comes along 4 U, use what U can.
